Daffodil Field

Here's a picture of some Queen Anne's Lace which grows in our daffodil field. With so many visitors and so much going on last weekend, I neglected to show them this and another field down by the water where my grandfather used to grow daffodils commercially.

Grandma J. may have seen it on her Gator ride with the CB Children, but she was probably too busy pulling grasshoppers from her teeth. CB Son loves to drive wide open through the tall, tall grass, causing insects of all shapes and sizes to swarm. Sometimes they get stuck in eyes, nostrils and teeth; also the back of your throat if you're screaming, fyi.

In other news, I am officially declaring this a Do Nothing Saturday. What can be more important than lounging in pajamas all day rest and relaxation? Whatever is on that list of things to do can wait.

The End.

  1. Oh, the ride on the gator with CB Son was fantastic and a high point for me. I saw the Queen Anne's Lace. You are right, we went full bore over hill and dale with CB Daughter in the back laughing her silly head off while Meg screamed bloody murder at CB Son to keep his eyes on the trail ahead...of course he couldn't hear her. BWAAAAAH

He took us to the spring too..

  3. Well lookie here, all caught up and one of the first to comment. Why? Because I have been reading your blog ALL DAMNED DAY to catch up, that's why.

    Know what?

It was SO worth it. : )

Also, I'm still up because my brothers got in late and visiting and then more reading and then a child peed in my bed and it's looking like the couch for me tonight and JEEBUS, when's the next flight to Richmond?!

  7. We're doing nothing too! Can you believe I STILL haven't unpacked? Yeah, talk about putting on the inevitable.

Actually, we are going to do nothing in the spirit of taking a drive up the coast. But hey, if I'm not doing laundry, dished, vacuuming, or cleaning something, then it qualified as doing nothing!

Enjoy all the comfortable nothingness of your Saturday!

  9. I believe Queen Anne's Lace is the perfect wildflower. I used to think I would incorporate it into my wedding. Turns out, it doesn't work so well in December.

    Enjoy your uneventful day.

  12. Happy Do Nothing Saturday. I just finished typing a response to every one of you, and then internet explorer gave me an error message and it disappeared.

This is what I get for actually clicking on that little thingie in the lower corner that says you have updates waiting for you. Evidently it uploaded I/E 8 which is eating up comments randomly.

Any sort of change relating to technology doesn't usually sit well with me. Something alway goes awry.

So rather than going back and retyping what I said, just enjoy the day, everyone. The weather is beautiful here and the house is quiet. Perfect for doing nothing.

    Have a great day.

  13. OH!! Do NOTHING Saturday!! Well, I didn't get the memo....FINALLY unloaded the truck and unpacked from Blog Fest...don't judge! Then sat by the pool with the family until SW had to get ready for work. Scallops and Crabcakes on the grill....life is good in K&Q!! Miss you!

  14. If I don't unpack as soon as I get home, it will sit there all week. And then I begin pulling things out of the case as I need them. Drives me crazy! So I unpack right away. I don't need to be any more crazy.
PS ~ I was floating in a pool yesterday. It was nice and all, but it wasn't the same feeling as floating in Hills Bay. NOT at all.

Thanks for reading and thanks for leaving a comment. I thoroughly enjoy hearing what you have to say even if I don't always have a chance to respond personally.
