Gustav Takes a Bath

Once upon a time, Chesapeake Bay Mother dragged a plastic swimming pool into Killer Goose Gustav's pen.

Does anyone else find it a little strange that somebody would buy a kiddie pool for a goose? Maybe it's just me, I don't know.

Chesapeake Bay Woman, thinking this might be an opportune time to take some photos, trotted next door with her camera. The novelty of a personal swimming pool a good bath might distract him long enough that she could approach without fear of death being bitten.

Beelzebub The beast, not wanting any part of this activity, began hissing and spitting and charged at Chesapeake Bay Woman, so she galloped back to her house and never did get a decent shot.

The End.

  1. I do not think in the whole wide world there is anything meaner than a goose! And what give them that right??? Just askin'.
O, and just ask my youngest daughter about mean geese! She has a story or two! Just sayin'.

  4. I must admit, I had a kiddie pool for the ducks I once had, and the various labs we've had have always had their own kiddie pool too...

  5. The only thing that makes the pool strange is, um, YOU LIVE ON THE WATER. Is there not ENOUGH water? Is it not close enough?

  6. Meg, that's my point exactly. Gustav will occasionally go swimming with his Canadian amigos, but when he does, CB Mother trots out there whooping and hollerin' to get him back on dry land.

Am enjoying a LOVELY day at Dewey Beach and also am loving access to my friend's laptop (or flaptop as my father likes to say). I can actually get on Facebook without the whole thing crashing. Also, I think I've slept most of the time I've been here except for the few hours in the evening dedicated to eating and sampling wine. CAn't believe how good it feels to be rested and destressed.

    Have a great Saturday, all.

  7. p.s. Forgot to mention that my father's word for Facebook is Spacebook.

So, to use his terminology, I can access Spacebook from my friend's flaptop.

  8. I admire your mother - she is a strong woman to have a big white duck. I have been chased by big white geese..Does Gustav have a spacebook page on his flaptop?

  9. See, he's not just a goose. If you would accept that you'd find all this easier to accept. After all ken do (WV kendo)

  10. Buying a swimming pool for a goose seems logical to me! Sorry Gustav wasn't ready for his "close-up!"

  11. Oh yes, kiddie pools for water foul can be seen on all the best ranchos. It's when your mom buys Gustav an iPod that you have to cut her off.

When my little brother had ducks as a kid he put them in our above-ground pool. They loved it! We took photos and movies and threw them bread crumbs to eat and only the next day did we realize that THE WATER WAS DARK GREEN. Pool cleaned, ducks banned.

May I steal the Gustav shots for his Spacebook fan page?

Thanks for reading and thanks for leaving a comment. I thoroughly enjoy hearing what you have to say even if I don't always have a chance to respond personally.
