Green

Somewhere in Mobjack, 2010.

Partially because I haven't had time to take photos lately,

but mostly because I am officially tired of the scarcity of color and life this time of year,

I am sharing some old photos that feature the color green.

I can't wait for warm weather.

Hoping to find some words of wisdom to support my lack of enthusiasm for winter, I happened instead upon a few quotes which give good reasons to appreciate this time of year.

There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you.... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.
~Ruth Stout

I like these cold, gray winter days.  Days like these let you savor a bad mood.
~Bill Watterson

The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination.
~Terri Guillemets

OK, fine. Pardon me while I spend the next few months savoring my bad mood. And hurry up, Spring!

  1. I read somewhere that this is the most depressing week of the year. I have to agree to the depression and to the bad mood. It has been a long winter and we've got months to go...wonder what we will be like in March?
    Enjoyed the quotes, especially yours:)
    Thanks for the green!

  2. Sorry, but I'm happy. And I loved one of those quotes but I forget which one.
Cheer up, CBW, just think, this week won't be back for a whole year. Of course, it'll sneak up on you then, too, but wot the h... you'll have had a year to forget about it.

  3. I like the one about the bad mood seeing as how I'm in one. It's a constant state of bad moodedness. It seems to be a perpetual state. At least until Blogfest maybe. Here's another winter quote "Now is the winter of our [my] discontent"

  5. Savoring a bad mood . . . that just fits with the season!

I hope you aren't savoring a bad mood and are having a wonderful day!

Thanks for reading and thanks for leaving a comment. I thoroughly enjoy hearing what you have to say even if I don't always have a chance to respond personally.
