Back to the Grind

This week it's back to the normal drudgery routine that is my life.

Which means a return to the paying job, also known as work.

Since I've been away for a week and because this particular week at work is one of the busiest, there won't be many new pictures here unless I scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Before I do that, I am recycling some old ones of the Milford Haven area.

Today I awoke at 5:15 (a most horrific shock after sleeping in until 8 or 8:30 most days last week), drove 102 miles round trip to work where I clocked 9.5 hours with no break and barely any food. The house is a wreck, the yard is overgrown, the laundry is piling up, the dog has some sort of skin issue causing him to shed tumbleweeds, and I'm supposed to be training for a half marathon in my "spare time." Ha!

Also, I need to be seeking out additional ways to earn an income, a fact I've been neglecting for some time. (If anyone is looking for part-time help that does not involve a drive over the Coleman Bridge, let me know. Or I could just follow through on the thousands of ideas I have.  Far, far easier said than done.)

It's hard to believe the difference between this week and last, but I am grateful for last week's respite from the day to day responsibilities.

The whining portion of this blog post is now officially over.

Thank goodness the first day of the worst work week is too.

What's happening in your world?

Coming home is always the hard part, isn't it? And after spending a week in Shangri-La (which is what it is down there), it makes it even more difficult. I can't stand coming home to a messy house which is why I'm spending every day cleaning something before we leave Saturday morning for MAINE!! I wish you could come with us . . . can I steal you away?

I'm trying to get caught up at work so I don't worry over it while I'm down there. You could be a Walmart greeter....

I still think selling cards at the annual whattheheckisitcalled down at the Courthouse is a good $$ maker with little effort and out of pocket

What's going on here? Another heat wave .. yawn ...

I used to wish I didn't have to work. I miss it though. I hope that at some point in the future I can get a job again. I'd like to earn some money too!
I have been busy with my house and furniture projects.

I was going to suggest getting a job at Busch Gardens but I still have a vivid mental image of you in that tight tight tight get up they made you wear the last time you tried that. Anything the avoids theme park costumes, that's my suggestion. :)

ps. What's new here?

1) It's hot.
2) Planning vacations to places that aren't hot.
3) Filling 5-6 ice cube trays every morning now.
4) Counting fireflies and mosquito bites each evening now. So far, seeing more fireflies than bites so it's a good summer.
5) Did I mention it's hot? The Dog Days o Summer are woofing away right now. They're early this year--and me daffodils were early too. So my hope is this means cool autumn breezes will be arriving early this year too.

I agree with Daryl. Turn your photos into money. Maybe an Etsy store?

Beautiful pictures stay beautiful. I am already dreading coming back from vacation and I have not gone yet. 3 more weeks...and I don't even know where I will go.
