Scenes from Tangier IV

Lacking dotted lines, solid lines, lines at all or shoulders,

the roads on Tangier are loaded with charm.

I think this is the mailman. With a bike in the back, not mail.
Regardless, this is one of the few vehicles you'll see on the island.

Golf carts are like cars on Tangier.

If you're not traveling by golf cart, you're pedaling a bicycle.

Or hoofin' it.
Believe it or not, this a road.
Not a footbridge.

Intersection of Long Ridge and West Ridge.
(In case you overlook the waist-high road signs.)

Speed limit or maximum pulse rate?

More Tangier photos forthcoming.

So quaint! Love the white picket fences and the little lanes. Very relaxing to look at...

There's a 2 ton weight limit on that bridge? Uh oh, better be careful chowing down on the pancakes ...

I love the pink flowers over the white picket fence. Gorgeous photos, CBW.
I looked up Tangier Island on Wikipedia and I am hooked. Caught like a crab in a trap.
However, I still haven't convinced my husband to drive out your way. Just this week he asked if I thought we could drive to Ecuador, though. Fortunately, Google Maps said no, despite the bridge over the Panama Canal.
Whew!
Back to convincing him about crab sandwiches.
Sigh.
All best wishes,
K

As I was looking at your pictures, I tried to envision myself there. I did, and what I noticed was how quiet and peaceful it is. The only sounds I could "hear" was the laping of the water through the grasses and the sounds of gulls and other sea birds. Marvelous! Love it! Love it! Love it!

Been away for a few days (Harry says Hi!) - just seeing these pictures. I want to visit Tangier in the worst way! And Smith Island, too. Hopefully in the near future... Glad you enjoyed your trip and thank you for sharing your photos.
