Sunday morning I received a text from my friends Glenda and Billy asking if I'd like to join them for an afternoon boat ride.
Why yes. As a matter of fact I would love to join them for a boat ride!
I met them at the landing at Peary, and away we went to an isolated beach just around the bend.
This was only the second boat ride I've taken this summer, and the first time I've been outside for any extended period of time since my surgery almost two weeks ago. It was a much-needed excursion that was long overdue.
This week is the busiest of the year at work, but thankfully I have a vacation looming just around the corner next week. So although it will be like running a half-marathon this week, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I'll post more pictures from this boat trip later in the week.

I am relieved the "half marathon" turns out to be a simile ("like").
Glad to hear you've been out and about. A nice boat ride and lazing on the beach will cure anything. At least I think so. I have always believed in the healing powers of water. Whether you are in, on, or just being around it.
Glenda and Billy are a good cure for anything. Beautiful beaches are everywhere in Mathews.
Thinking everyone needs a Glenda & Billy + boat....they sound wonderful, and I am sure you are fun company for them as well.
