Silent Sunday

In Chesapeake Bay Woman terms, "silent" means "fewer than ten pages long" or "slightly less painful than passing a kidney stone."

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I took this photo down at Commenter Breezeway's cottage on Gwynn's Island. I was there last week at about 7:30 in the morning, and at first said, "Eh, there's really nothing new here that I haven't done before," and I almost left without taking a single picture.

But then something caught my eye, and then something else, and then something else. Before you know it, 25 pictures later, I was lying on my back in the sand with the back of my head slanting downwards towards the water--taking this picture.

Later in the day I changed clothes and deposited a quart of sand on the floor.

May your Sunday be peaceful and your pants free of sand.

And I can only imagine that is exactly the same view a fiddler crab would have.

LOL - I know that feeling - oh nothing worth photographing here... and two hours later...

There's a little park in out neighborhood called "Sandy Bottom". I think I now know how it got it's name.

Have a great day!

GJ - Yes, the exact same view as those fiddler crabs that live around my shoreline. In this case it likely would have been a sand crab or a horseshoe crab, neither of which I happened to see, otherwise you'd have heard the scream all the way in TX, even though both are harmless. (Ever since having children, not only did I lose my memory, I have become irrationally afraid of things I never used to be afraid of...such as insects, creepy crawlies, crabs, etc.)

Vanilla - It is truly amazing. One second I said, "Nothing to shoot here," and then I'm rolling around in the sand. Good thing nobody saw me, otherwise I might be writing from the nearest Sanctuary for the Sanity Challenged.

MMM- I'll wager the sandy bottoms in your park are toddlers, not 44 year olds, and they probably realize long before the end of the day that there's sand to be reckoned with.

Have a relaxing Sunday.

I love it when my day is peaceful and there is no sand in my pants.

I know exactly what you mean about the been there, done that. Glad you had a second, third and fourth look. This tree is cool.

I love tree shots.

I want that sand back... LOL! I think you've seen the cottage more this winter than anyone in my family. Works for me! Good to know it's still standing, I assume we would get pics of the ruble if it were not! You are a hoot!

I don't deal with sand well. I have no problem with dirt, mud, or manure, but sand is like an eyelash in my eye.

Go ahead, call me a baby. I can take it. Just don't throw sand.
