More Daffodils

This weekend, upon returning home from a fabulous getaway with some high school friends, I was relieved to see the daffodil fields were still in bloom, untouched by the impending doom tilling that will soon take place to prepare the soil for farming.

At dinner last night Daughter told me that she and her friend Olivia spent most of the day Saturday picking flowers and delivering them to friends and family.

I'm so grateful they were able to share these cheerful flowers with others.

Speaking of cheer, my weekend away with friends was outstanding, just what the doctor ordered.  There was an overabundance of sunshine, laughter and the scent of ocean air.  It was just the sort of rejuvenation my stressed-out soul needed.

This week, in addition to the usual running around for work and Daughter's soccer, I will travel with Son to Charlottesville for a Visit UVA Day, filled with activities intended to sway a potential student to accept their offer of admission and introduce them to daily life on grounds.

I'm looking forward to it.

Even if I feel like just yesterday I was the one trotting off to college instead of bearing down hard on the age of 50.

Gorgeous flowers, especially when I enlarged the photo.
I'm glad you had a good weekend. You needed it, with so many kid activities, and now you're off to college with your son. Tell him to pretend you're his sister. Not his actual sister, his imaginary grown up but nowhere-near-50 sister. I'm 21 years older than my mother's "ulcer" which surprised everyone by becoming Robbie Davies.

Hmmm, I love those daffodils and narcissi, and the fact that your adorable daughter and friend spent the weekend picking them and taking them to friends and family. You have raised two wonderful kids, and I know you're proud of them.

Hi to your mom and dad, with a special hug to your mom.
Luv, K

TELL ME ABOUT IT - I ordered graduation announcements last week for Seth, as he celebrated his 18th(!) birthday. Why, just last week I reserved a campus dorm room with two classmates with whom I will be attending my 25TH COLLEGE REUNION. I mean DEAR LORD how is this all upon me? At once??

Thanks for your kind words, Kay. And also for the laugh with your mother's ulcer.

Meg- SERENITY NOW!
