This building in "downtown" Mathews used to be Twigg Motor Company and, later, Christie Chevrolet.
I've always admired it.
Based on the signs, it looks like cars will continue to be associated with this building in the future.
Speaking of cars, this weekend I'll be doing something for the first time in my 50 years on this planet: attending a drag racing event. Saturday I'll be just outside of Richmond (here) broadening my horizons and participating in some very serious car- and people-watching. There will also be consumption of french fries, I've been promised.
Although my mother and daughter appeared simultaneously stunned and slightly horrified when I told them where I was going, I'm very much looking forward to a new adventure.
Son departs for college this weekend, and Daughter just took her senior portraits. I think the drag races will be a nice distraction from the fact that in less than a year I will be an empty nester.
Have a great weekend.

CBW, I sympathize immensely with the empty nest issue. Re the charming building, I see there are already designs on its future. Did you know that ever since the DIY network came to Mathews for a "blog cabin" renovation---when they hired Courthouse Construction in Mathews to help, they have not been able to let go of C. C.'s Dylan Eastman? His immense skill has propelled him to work on each successive annual blog cabin project in the wider world. Up north in Maine, then on the water in North Carolina, by a Florida lake-- (after the old house was moved to the lakeside lot). The past year he worked in Idaho building a hillside house with a view of Lake Coeur D'Alene. His family in Mathews may be having some empty nest issues at least part of each year.
I am glad you had a summer visit with CBSon,I know everyone missed him during the school year.
