Three Things

Here we are, once again, at the day of the week called Thursday, which is when I share three things and you (hopefully) share three things. There are no rules or regulations dictating what you should share, especially even as it relates to the number.  Three is just a suggestion.  Just share.

I'll go first.

1.  The photo above of the Islander was taken from my deck using the zoom lens.  To convey what that place meant to so many people is impossible to do in a blog post.  The story would, however, make a very nice movie or book. In a rural county whose main attraction (aside from its isolation) is its natural beauty and proximity to the water, the Islander provided Us Locals with recreational and social activities otherwise unheard of; and Them Tourists with an experience that simply could not be replicated.

2. Right now I could use an extended stay at the Islander, assuming the seafood buffet, the swimming pool and that upstairs lounge were still open for business. Even so, I'm ready to go.

3.  I'm looking forward to a vacation even if it involves a tent and no running water. Extended time away from Life is in order, and it's long overdue.

Now it's your turn.

My husband is working like mad to get the taxes done before he leaves town tomorrow, but he has promised me 22 minutes in which to watch one episode of The Big Bang Theory. Promised. And it is late. Some might say too late, but I'm holding him to it even if I fall asleep right after Sheldon says "Bazinga!"

1. I can't find a place to live that I can afford, keeps Bridget in the same school her senior year and let's me keep the dog. If I make Bridget switch schools or I give up the dog it doesn't matter, I will be hated either way.

2. I will possibly be "vacationing" in a house with a tarp for a roof May 7th weekend.

3. Re, you turn the Islander into a commune I'm sooo there.

WV: hytersi- when you're so hysterical you can no longer spell it.

Wait. You're going camping again? Why don't you go stay at the Islander? That would be the same as camping...

We need to make a plan about that place.

SERIOUSLY, let's get that commune going!

My cell phone is exploding with severe weather alerts. Tornado watches and warnings, flood warnings, severe thunderstorms... and it appears to be heading your way now, CBW. Keep an eye on the radar...

Why yes, I WILL be waking up early tomorrow to watch the wedding, why do you ask? :-)

1. I have a pick pot of beef ragu cooking slooooowly in my oven, smells good, but I don't like it.

2. My 12 yo daughter will love me briefly once more when she gets home to find out I made beef ragu.

3. Later tonight, she will once again have loving thoughts for me as she reheats a bowl of that ragu.

1. My cat has been here for 7 months.

2. She still scratches me when I walk by her.
