Still Here

Although I'm far too tired to write about what all has been going on, I thought I'd at least post a few photos that I uploaded prior to my son's surgery last Wednesday.

We survived and arrived home Sunday afternoon.  However, we're still far from normal by any stretch of the imagination. Neither one of us has slept more than two consecutive, uninterrupted hours since 1995 last Tuesday.  He's still in a great deal of pain and requires constant monitoring and attention, which I am glad to provide.  I'd just like three consecutive hours of sleep, just one more time.  Please?

Postings will continue to be sporadic until we get some sleep things improve.

In the mean time, please fill me in on what's new and exciting in your world. I always enjoy hearing from you, and it will help distract me from what's going on here.

(Which, to reiterate, does not involve sleeping.)

XO to you both. No uplifting news here, I am afraid to say. I do hope CB daughter is enjoying school. Precious days...

Being home is a huge step in the right direction! At least you can be sleepless in your very own bed.

Let's see, over here we're older and more broke than before. High school back-to-school night was last week, for two boys, and the elementary one is this week. But our clothes dryer is fixed and works better than before, so there's that!

Still saying prayers for you...

nothing very exciting happening here .. oh wait, we've had the AC off for the past 4 days that's exciting .. the temps have been low and no humidity ... me likee!

maybe your mom can take over nursing for 3-4 hours and you can go take a nice long nap .. remember caregivers need rest too! xoxo

Glad you're home! I think dealing with sleeplessness and pain is much easier when you're in your own place. Not much exciting around here other than the typical licking of batteries, amusements from the Brat Child and the cyclical psychosis of swine with the Y chromosome.

Hoping CBson's pain wears off soon and you both manage more sleep!

So glad you are home even if you sleepy and tired! There is a chill in the air here. The chickens are not laying. They may end up as soup if they don't start producing!
Continued prayers for CB son.

Nothing really new in my neck of the woods. Unless you can call having the AC off for 2 days exciting.

I'm so glad you are both home and that's when the healing really begins. Sorry you aren't getting much sleep, though. It WILL get better. Hang in there.

The weather here in Maryland is beautiful. Thanks for writing me back last night when I began to worry about you. Hoping for some rest for you both soon.

Been a long time since our son was in his teens and broke his jaw. I slept beisde him for weeks because it was wired shut and he could not talk. It is service I would gladly do again--I wish he and his little family were nearer geographically now, but he has paid us back a million times wth love! Let's see--that was 21 years ago!
Not much going on in Western Tidewater, VA--watching the fall come. :-)

Everyday hopefully he is feeling better.

Since the summer season is over my work has dwindled down. Its OK I guess, I will start my e-bay selling again, you know pulling stuff off the walls and going into closets and see what I don't want anymore and getting rid off. 5 more years and then we are out of here so I am getting rid of stuff.

Hope he is not in so much pain...m
