A little over a week ago, I drove down to Aaron's Beach and noticed an unusual number of dead blue crabs
At the time I didn't pay much attention to the fact that there were so many. Only vaguely familiar with the life cycle and habits of crabs, I assumed the blizzard caused a ruckus that unearthed them from their winter sleep and flung them all along the shoreline.
This leads me to the moral of this story which is: Winter is
Also, the next time I go to Aaron's Beach in the winter I'll be toting a bushel basket and some Old Bay seasoning.
Have a great weekend.

Yummy! Would be fun to have a winter picnic:)
Wow, I never realized blue crabs were actually blue. I just thought that was their name. But now I know.
I'm sure you'll find out why they died, because you ask questions and demand, I mean, get answers.

This was also around the same time that a couple million dead spot and croaker were found in the bay in Maryland. They attributed that to stress from cold weather (and an overly abundant spot population).
Because these crabs look so plump (as opposed to all dried out) I have a feeling the winds from the blizzard simply shoved them rudely from their winter nap onto the beach. (Where do we sign up for a winter nap?)
It was interesting, not something you see every day, that's for sure.
Last time I was there it was hot peppers strewn all up and down the shoreline. This time crabs. Wonder what will be next?
Personally I'm hoping for guacamole.
It's Friday!
Probably the cold, or could be the END TIMES since there are all those birds dying too... very peculiar.
Thanks for that comment CBW... I desperately needed a laugh. If actual guacamole doesn't wash up on the beach, perhaps just some advocados. Bridget makes a mean guacamole.
I heard about the fish kill... and I hate to see a dead crab that hasn't been recently steamed and seasoned with Old Bay. How long till crab season again?
WV Rayla.... you got me on my knees, Rayla... I'm beggin' darlin' please...
This makes me want a Bloody Mary. And I cannot figure it out....
Hmmmm. Strange indeed.
Pass the wine.
