Bittersweet

Saturday night was prom night in Mathews.  Son and his friend J.S. had a good time.

But a cloud of sadness hung over everything.

Mathews County suffered a tragic loss Saturday morning.  One of our precious teenagers, who was eagerly awaiting the prom herself, was taken in a car accident.

Hug your loved ones.  Tightly.

CBSon and his friend look great.
My heart just breaks over the loss. Driving home Saturday evening we saw all the couples getting photos taken for prom and it was just so sad.

Your son and his date look so grown-up and lovely. I'm glad you posted their photos. I am sure this tragic loss was felt by everyone in the community. I am just so sad over it.

I read your post this morning (at 5am) before leaving for work , and have had it on my mind all day. I am really saddened by the loss of one so young with the whole world stretched before them. We lost one of our classmates the night before graduation and I still remember how I got the news, and that was over 45 years ago. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Your pictures are lovely and shows that time does go forward.
