We are a family of "come heres" - My husband's family has been spending time in Mathews since the 50's, I've been coming since the 70's. Though I find your writing hilarious, I keep visiting your website for the pictures - it helps me get through the week, until we can visit Mathews again. My children grew up on the "rivah", with boat rides, water skiing, bottom fishing, crabbing, swimming in panty hose, etc. - we wouldn't trade our memories, or our river place for anything.
It's nice that you get to see something so serene when you happen to be up at sunrise, whether you're just going to bed or just getting out of bed..If I happen to be up at this time of the morning, I get the pleasure of looking at a big tree and a parking lot and smelling something, oh, a bit " natural " drifting up the stairwell from the hippies that live below me. Not that there's anything wrong with hippies. Love, Baby Sis
Anonymous "Come Here"- I am so glad I can help you make it through the times you are away from this beautiful place. I encourage you to contribute whenever you wish, as I tell anyone and everyone who has any knowledge of the area. I must confess I have never heard of swimming with panyhose on, but I would guess it has more to do with avoiding stinging nettles and less to do with dressing up for a dip?
Baby Sis - You can move back here anytime you want...your niece and nephew talk about it all the time.
