Three Things

Welcome to Three Thing Thursday, where I whine and complain about three or more things share three things and you shake your head and roll your eyes do too.

Without further ado, let's begin.

1.  My dishwasher now officially joins the very lengthy list of items in the Chesapeake Bay Family household that no longer work or require expensive extensive repairs.  Although the lights come on and it makes all sorts of moans and groans noises as if it's trying to wash dishes, there's no water entering the main compartment.  Now, if there's one thing I know, it's that water is one non-negotiable ingredient in the whole dishwashing process. A functioning dishwasher is one of the only things saving this family from being buried alive in dirty dishes.  This is very distressing to me.  Very distressing indeed.

2.  The windshield on my car sports not one but two very large cracks.  Unrelated to that, whenever it rains, water leaks through the passenger door onto the floorboard. The gushing river incoming water, which ultimately pools in the floor, somehow triggers the interior lights to come on spontaneously. Also, there is some required maintenance due, something to do with differentials or something.  And a recall notice came in the mail the other week. Can't even remember what that was about. Since I have no spare time, no spare car and daily responsibilities which require me to drive a minimum of 100 miles on a good day, the chances are not looking promising that any of these problems will be fixed any time soon. This, too, is very distressing.

3. Plus I have a book due soon and no time to work on it. Also, the paying job is trying to kill me with the workload. And we won't talk about the list of things that need doing around this house, because I already alluded to that above and where, exactly, is Eddie Money with those Two Tickets to Paradise he keeps promising? My bags are packed.

3.  Last evening after work, even though it was freezing cold rather brisk, someone was water skiing on the creek.  Ok, so nobody water skis around here any more.  (Why is that, exactly? I always loved water skiing. Lived for it even.)  They were flying behind a boat standing on one of those boards--is it a wakeboard? I have no idea what they're called.  It looks like fun, and I'll put it on the list of things I'd like to try, but I yearn to water skiing.

Anyway, I thought I'd contribute at least one thing that wasn't a complaint, and this was the best I could come up with. (It's pretty weak, at best, and still sounds whiney to me.)

4.  Calgon take me away. Please.

Now it's your turn.  Please share three (or more) things.  Whatever happens to be on your mind.

Click here for a musical rendition of what is on my mind right now.

So that's where they do all the waterboarding?

I have already received three out of four Mother's Day Gifts.
I know it's shameful to brag but it makes me glad I have four kids who don't chip in to buy just one gift anymore.

1. I am sick. Haven't walked the dog all week.
2. My husband is out of town on business, so he hasn't walked her, either.
3. If I weren't in so much pain, I'd feel guilty. If he weren't making so much money, my husband would feel guilty, too.
The dog, however, gets her exercise running along the fence whenever anyone dares pass, especially anyone with a dog or a bicycle, or both.

1. CBW call these guys they come right to your house for windshield repair..

http://glassrepairfairfax.com/

they have a few locations in your area. I don't know how expensive they are but maybe if your car insurance deductible isn't that high you can put a claim in with them...

2. I would be thrilled beyond belief if one of you girls won the BC...that would mean that maybe I would get an invitation to a least get to go there if I could not have it for myself...

3. CBW is the other ticket for Eddy cause he is kind of cute!!

4. everything is going to get done..I know it is, take your time and tackle one thing at a time...BREATHE!

Here's my list of Three Whines:

1. In the next few days, I need to open a new checking account, secure a post office box, and purchase a vehicle. DELIVAH ME!

2. Snow White will NOT be home for Mother's Day. It will be my first one without her. This makes me very sad.

3. The Food Lion in Saluda does NOT carry Fish Eye Cabernet OR Merlot. I have to drive all the way to Funky Town to get either of the two. I'm still not sure why, but this really irritates me!!

One Positive? I am actually able to take a day off tomorrow!! YAY! However, please see #1 in the list above...thank goodness I won't have to make a special trip to town to pick up that Fish Eye;)

1. My three wines would be Linganore Winery's Skipjack, Steeplechase Red and Mountain White. Oh, we're talking about the other kind of whines... I have those too.

2. Big Sis is scheduled to get her license May 10th. She thinks going for her test is a sure bet. Silly girl.

3. Today is day 4 of my diet and I'm finally over the cravings. My co-worker (and "work husband") Bob is relieved as I will now stop envisioning him as a Tasty Kake cupcake and asking him repeatedly if he has creme filling.

4. I am morbidly excited to be headed to Deltaville this weekend so I can see the damage there first hand. I have plans for many photos so I can see the before and after.

1) just a guess, but I'm thinking you have a clog in the line going to your dishwasher.

2) I've always like Eddie Money's voice, but he actually looks sexy in that video (to me) today.

3) My tennis team is doing phenomenal and we got to play-offs this weekend! We have an 85% win percentage for the season....We're a bunch of Charlie Sheens!

Have a great weekend! Wish I could see everybody...

Love,

Middle Sis

This is your fairy godmother.
You have three wishes.
They WILL come true.
Be deliberate and careful. Avoid premature wishing.
Abracadabra, please and thank you.

1. So, all the little trees in my back yard are dead. There's no more denying it. Guess we gotta file a claim to replace those.

2. Our homeowners insurance tried to slap a $713 "experience surcharge" on our renewal premium, I guess because of this fun "experience" of having had a blazing brushfire rip through our property, kill most of our trees and threaten to burn down our house. When our agent cried foul, the insurance said, well, we'll just rate them on another schedule (WTH?) and the rates turned out to be MORE than our renewal with the experience surcharge. This is a variation on "heads I win, tails you lose."

It's Friday, not Thursday, as I write this, and I wasted a lot of time today on who knows what, and we're going away for the weekend and despite my fervent wishes the bags are not packing themselves, so I guess I'd better get busy!

Enjoy your weekend. I wish I was on Queens Creek.
