Williams Wharf

These are some more shots taken after my jog down Williams Wharf road the other day.  About a month ago I posted similar photos from this location.

However, I like these better because there's more color, and the sun is hitting the bricks there on the shoreline just so.

This rubble is from the recent demolition down there as they make way for a new boathouse. I'm more fascinated by the old than the new, though.

And that's all for today.

Beautiful shots. You are right, the color of the bricks adds more photographic interest to the scene

I know what you mean about not liking winter, it snowed last night and I worked till 10pm, and had to drive home in it...not happy

we have to talk the husband out of Maine, he is know talking about Maine for retirement, that is too cold for me, I will never survive winter...

today at 4 I get my teeth cleaned, call me crazy, but I love having my teeth cleaned...I don't know why I had to share that but I did...

I like the bricks too.

I have a friend who collects bricks, sounds foolish but it is not. Bricks are mostly marked on the top and bottom. They search through city rubble , find a marked brick , go home and research the maker, learn some history.
Also, advertising bricks were custom made and placed into the sidewalk or street to direct customers to a particular shop.

Of course this was all done a hundred years ago, now we have texting.

Anonymous-I'd be typing this from Riverside Walter Reed/Guinea General Hospital if I ran from my house down to the wharf. No, this particular day I parked my car here and ran up and down the road, it's only two miles and an easy two miles at that. It's the only way I can get a jog in without running in to neighbors or people who want to stop and talk, which happens on my lane frequently.

Thanks to you all for commenting. Sorry I haven't been on here more, but there's lots going on, as usual.
