Three Things

Once again it's time for Three Thing Thursday, where I share a minimum of three thoughts and with any luck you will too.  These days I don't have much exciting to report, so I truly look forward to hearing from y'all.

Let's begin.

1.  These pictures were taken from Beachland, the historic home I wrote about back in November/December.  (Click here and here for more details.) Gloria, the current owner, asked me to stop by for a visit, and I was glad to get out of the house and spend some time over there.  We talked briefly about the need to get crackin' on some sort of a novel or book, and hopefully I'll get back there more often in the warmer months to jump start my creative process and get something started.

2.  Speaking of jump starting a creative process, I haven't even felt like going out to take pictures these days much less start another project like a book.  However, I need to do another book.  Don't ask me why I use the word need but I feel compelled to do one. A bigger and better one.  Way better.  The problem is (and perhaps this is because of the Winter Blahs) I lack even the most meager fleck of motivation or inspiration.  I don't even know what I want to write about.  A history book or a fictional novel?  A coffee table book of photographs (how easy this would be! but who will publish it?) or a book about the magical healing powers of the crab hat? A compilation of ridiculous stories I've told over the course of this blog with my quirky style and weak attempts at humor?  A combination of some of the above?  A fictional story with historical facts and a few pictures?  I don't know.  Any ideas? Anyone?  Bueller?

3.  Tonight and tomorrow night Chesapeake Bay Daughter has basketball games.  I adore watching her play, she is really something else and I'm not just saying that because I'm her mother. Really.  If there is one thing I know it's that girl can play some basketball.

Now it's your turn.  Please share three things.  No rules, just share whatever you want.  Tell me something.  Anything.  If you can't think of anything, give me some ideas for blog posts and books.

Thanks for reading and (hopefully) participating.

Tres cosas : la luna has me speaking Spanish---the full moon you saw again tonight is a big round mirror, reflecting the sun's light back at you...it reminds you that in spite of the gloomy grey days, the sun's light has still been there ("but clouds got in the way",to quote Joni Mitchell)..
. I too would have liked the name Paloma, Spanish for 'dove'--a symbol of peace. I knew more than I realized during pregnancy--my son is a pacifist and was a playground peacemaker as a little boy.

This weather would give anyone the blahs, just not enough sunshine! I do hope you will sit down and do a few outlines of the books you would like to do - historical or hysterical fiction? You could do either - I do think the history of that beautiful estate deserves to be written by you!
Tomorrow my husband starts some cardiac testing to see if that is part of his health problems. Thankful for my Kindle to pass the time...
Have fun at the basketball game! I just know she is an amazing player!

It did snow this morning only a dusting, enough to make it a bleak dreary day. We need some sunshine!

I think some type of memoir/ anecdotal book based on your blog is a fantastic idea. Offers insight to, well, Life in Mathews.

1. Midge had her very last high school basketball game Tuesday. What in the heck am I going to do with my time??

2. My hands smell like garlic from cooking dinner last night (homemade alfredo with sauce from scratch) I don't mind because it reminds me dinner was excellent as was my company.

3. I want to investigate Beachland's ghosts.

1. Do the novel of Civil War Beachland, hanging and inverted grave and all. Weave a love story in (possibly true) with loads of sex and send the first copy to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. I'll be your agent.

2. Our girl can dribble like a Laker and make three-pointers all day long. Swish should be her middle name.

3. Physician, heal thy.... uh, Wear thy crabhat.

1. I'm glad I made you laugh. I think they should have called this month "Blahuary", since everybody gets the blahs this time of year.

2. I would read anything you wrote. I'm sure it would be exellent.

3. The hot water knob on my kitchen faucet broke yesterday. Darn, guess I'll have to eat out since I can't wash dishes. Look out Golden Corral, here I come!

LLC-You have a way with words, thank you.

deborah-Hysterical historical fiction is my new favorite genre. I will credit you in the next book.

AM-Saturday is approaching, though not fast enough.

DJ-When I was there (Beachland) we went inside for a bit, and I heard what I thought was a ghost...Gloria assured me it wasn't. (She knows from experience.) Next time you're in The Ville remind me and I'll see if we can swing by for a visit.

CBMumma-Speaking of crab hats, plan on wearing one at the 10K in Richmond. Team hat.

MPM - Hope you feel better soon.

DGHawk-Not only did you make me laugh with the garden hose story, but you made my mother laugh. We were talking about it today on the way to the basketball game. Golden Corral...ah, brings back so many memories. Of Thanksgiving 2011. Serenity now.

CG-Have FUN this weekend and take lots of pictures.

Thanks for reading and commenting!
