The Tree

Over the years, hurricanes, nor'easters and the usual storms that travel up and down the Chesapeake Bay have shaped and molded the land and sand around this one tree at Aarons Beach.

By this one tree, I mean this lone tree which stands stoically, braving all the elements.

Still standing in spite of it all.

I love this tree.

I love that tree too, and I have never met it. I want to be like that tree when (if) I grow up.

A lot of the time I feel like that tree, battered and wind-blown, and alone, but still standing. I'll bet she just laughs at those seagulls that attempt to land on her branches and shakes them off.

What a symbol of strength and courage through diversity! I needed that because I have a tough few weeks of stormy weather ahead...

have you ever seen the documentary/movie Grey Gardens it is the life of Edith Bouvier Beale and her mother Big Edie...the movie and their lives were amazing...there is a line in that movie where Big Edie says..."No, I don't like delicate women, I hate them"... trust me that tree is no delicate lady...

I love this tree without meeting it, too. I admire it all to bits.
And I agree with Daryl about the word verification. Some of the old "words" used to be fun, and I'd try to think up meanings for them, but the new thing is awful. I don't have it on my blog now, and so far (two days) I haven't been spammed.

That is remarkable, so close to the water. Interesting.
I also once had a favorite tree, you are not alone.

It's my grand daughter's 6th birthday today. She is strong and resilient like that tree..has the makings of a wild, iron woman.

I think a lot of us identify with that tree.

Your word verification is gonna kill me. And my eyes.

I love trees in general and I especially love them in the fall and summer.
