Three Thing Thursday

Step right up, folks!

It's Three Ring Circus Thursday Three Thing Thursday, where I share three things, anything at all, and you share three things, whatever you want.

1. For more than a few years months now, I've been unable to start my car unless the keys were jiggled--just so--in the ignition. Here lately, the jiggling has resorted to something we can only call "ugly" and "not right." Truth be told, I have a blister on my right forefinger due to this unnecessary jiggling, and I'm not sure which hurts worse: the blister or the over-use of the word "jiggle" in this paragraph.

2. After five hours of sleep the night before and a long commute/full day of work yesterday, I returned home last night to the distinct smell of Death on the back patio. Hoping this was merely the culmination of weeks days worth of trash piled up, I quickly realized that in fact Death was indeed at my doorstep in the form of a muskrat which had been baking in the four thousand ninety-degree sun all day long.

3. Because I'm as old as the hills For some reason, I'm listening and re-listening to Peter Frampton and Jackson Browne with far more patience and admiration than I did originally.

Now it's your turn. Tell us three things, anything at all. Three is only a guideline, and you're encouraged to color outside the guidelines, because that's where the fun lives.

1. I Want You!!! to show me the Fountain of Sorrow! (ok, mixing my songs here)

2. My damn keyless car starter thingy has up and quit. I now have to take the emergency key out to open doors/start engine. I am developing a sympathetic blister on my thumb.

3. I have no 3 as every single bit of my thought/creative processes have taken a permanent vacation at least 1000 miles away from me. POOH!

1. Three ring Thursday - that means tomorrow is Friday!!

2. I can't see the birds and squirrels in our yards because the grass is too high.

3. I want to find a CD of a guy I went to school with who sings, and he is actually very good, but I don't know where to find his CDs. Bryan Elder. I only can hear him on X-tra, and only in the morning.

1. I have sat here for the last 3 minutes staring at the blinking cursor thingy (do we still call it a cursor even though it is only a line now and not the little blob thing it used to be?) on the scren trying to remember why I sitting here.

2. I can't seem to get passed this little thing is blinking and taunting me. Like it expects something grand to happen. I have a feeling it will just have to keep blinking cause there is nothing grand about anything I have to say today.

3. Trois! don't ask you probably don't want to know.

1. FRAMPS!!!

2. Today, instead of my usual client in DC, I'm headed to their nonprofit above Baltimore. It helps high school kids develop interest in careers in science and guides them towards same. As part of the kids' orientation, I will be acting out some interview scenarios designed to highlight some of the common mistakes that candidates make. My interviewee will be the CEO of my client, who also founded this nonprofit. He's a curmudgeon, but I have figured out that his sarcasm and petulance is a smoke screen and underneath there's a good-hearted, almost-nice man. We'll see how it goes.

3. My word verification is unlogica and some days that is the perfect description for me. Unlogica.

1. I love football-jv, high school, college, pro-so my time of the year is almost here. Summer is too hot for me anymore. Love the fall.
2. What bright bulb decided not to schedule a Mathews football game on Market Days weekend? People come back to see each other, and football games are a great way to do it.

1- I used to play the viola when I was younger. I hope that sentence can't be turned into some sort of innuendo. The viola is a musical instrument that looks a lot like a violin, but it is bigger and sounds deeper (and nicer) than a violin.
2- This is obvious, but for some reason I feel the need to spell it out - you are not boring, and we do not fall asleep reading your posts.
3- Itty bitty spider babies keep appearing on my desk. And now a baby fly as well. I am not easily freakable, but I can't help thinking my office space is somehow located on an insect nest or something. Yuck.

Have a good day!

1. Was proud of my home-cooked meal, but then realized all the elements were store-made and reheated by me.
2. Wondering if I really know how to cook now. Maybe I've just been reheating all these years.
3. Went to comment on someone's blog today and the verification word was grandmother. I was offended.

1. You know that song, Muskrat Love? I'm not singing it now.

2. I've always loved Jackson Browne. And Peter Frampton's "Don't Hesitate" is "Our Song" (mine & husband's), so that's how long we's been together.

3. I got my hair cut and colored today and I look quite ravishing. I'm just throwing that out there.

1. Husband got the carpets cleaned Thursday -- YAY! Came home to clean carpets and only minimal traces -- well, sort of a lot -- of the geriatric cat pee that made us call the carpet cleaners in the first place. *sigh*
2. Saving up for either Pergo floors OR Blogfest 2010, but not both.
3. Geriatric cats spent their first night ALL TOGETHER locked in the laundry room. Success! No fighting, no discernible cat pee outside the litter box -- SUCCESS.
