Three Things

Once again it's Thursday, which means it's Three Thing Thursday, where I share three things and you share three things.

These Thursdays keep arriving faster and faster. Before you know it, I'll be sharing from a propped up position in a chair in the corner of the Mathews Convalescent Center, while the rest of my roommates are convened in one of the common areas tapping their toes to "If You're Happy And You Know It."

I wonder if they have internet access for nursing home residents ...

Let's begin.

1. Last night, since my son and daughter were eating elsewhere, I had a chocolate ice cream cone for supper.

2. It was so good, I had a second one.

3. Then, because I rarely eat sweets, I lapsed into a sugar coma that had me out like a light from 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m, which is unheard of for me. But then again so is a chocolate ice cream cone for dinner. Or rather, two ice cream cones. And sleep of any sort.

Now it's your turn to share three things about anything you want, up to and including your guilty pleasures, which might even include tapping your toes to a song about clapping your hands.

1. I am sure they will have internet access for those of us who demand it in nursing homes. How could they refuse.
2. I am home eating sugary sweets for "after-lunch". Very naughty. Why dd you mention them!
3.Have volunteered to help sort clothes at the local St Vincent's. Whew.. I had no idea there was so much second hand stuff floating around warehouses waiting to be sorted. What a job. What a waste. It looks like everyone throws out their current wardrobe and house furnishings and starts again every year!!

1. I made peach ice cream tonight for Saturday guests. The peaches wouldn't last another day. I will NOT eat that ice cream before Saturday.

2. Our guests are vegetarians, almost vegans. Do you think they'll really miss a milk/cream/egg dessert? Of course not.

3. Looks like breakfast is covered.

3. I had a big ole chocolate cone from Rita's last night. It was good. It's the last one for a while as I get back on track with the low carb diet.

Sometimes I have blueberries (the whole container) and a lot, a lot of vanilla ice cream for dinner ...

Tomorrow is our 32nd wedding anniversary .. we got married the day I was born and speaking of born

Our late friend Fred's son Dylan and his wife Sarah had a baby girl (8 lbs!) early yesterday morning, her name is Ada .. and she looks like her mom who is gorgeous and whose family owns the house/property called Ditchley which was my first visit to Virginia and in a way, even tho its in Gloucester, to Mathews!

AND ... I miss you

1. My cats don't bother my husband at night when they are out of food. They know he won't wake up.

2. The same cats are well aware that I am the light sleeper in the family.

3. Getting up at 3:30 in the morning to feed a pair of cats doesn't leave a person in the best mood.

OK,here goes: *cracks knuckles* *winces* *old*

1. I, too, had ice cream last night! Not for dinner (that would be crazy!!), but after I made a highly nutritous, low-calorie dinner and excused myself to do some solo mall shopping.

2. When my husband and I were first married and would would opposite shifts, my dinners often consisted of Slurpees and sunflower seeds. At least ice cream is vaguely related to a food group.

3. I am thrilled to usher my kids out the door on Sunday for their 2 week Euro invasion. But I'll also fret so much my hair starts to fall out, until they get to their first destination.

1. When I woke up yesterday morning, it was in the low 70's. I almost reached for a sweater.

2. SW spent the night with a friend Wednesday. CB and I ate nuked nachos for supper. Just like the pre-SW days! Next thing you know, I'll be eating potted meat and Saltines...just like college:/

3. Our family room is looking more and more like a dorm room. Is that a ploy to make me HAPPY that she is leaving and taking all of that stuff with her??

1. I ate half a bucket of Haagen-Dazs ice cream last night. Pralines and cream, in case you were wondering.

2. After a pizza.

3. In a vain attempt to lose resulting weight, went for a serious haircut this morning. I feel lighter, but not in the right area.

3a. Is it REALLY possible to have a rear with its own weather system?

2. I ate 2 ice cream drumsticks for lunch yesterday
3. My kids are killing me. Nobody works anywhere close to a normal schedule and I hate tiptoeing thru my house all day.
Thinking about running away from home:)

Thank you all for commenting - love reading these. So glad I'm not the only one having ice cream as a main course.

It's almost Friday...
