Trumpet Creeper

This is a shot of trumpet creeper vines on one of my favoritest * gates in the county.

Over thirteen years ago a year ago I asked permission to take a few shots of this and didn't get around to actually doing so until thirteen years later recently.

It's a beautiful gate.

In completely unrelated news, Ann Marie came over tonight to fix my ADD camera/computer issues, which boil down to stress an overloaded memory card.

She promised to download the overloaded memory card on some sort of disk of hers, but that required a blind hand-off of a memory card that contains every photo I've taken since December or January.

Although this makes me feel as though I need prescription medication because one third of every photo I've ever taken is on that memory card a bit nervous, perhaps the most frightening thing of all is that she has all my Blog Fest photos, which I've not previewed yet.

Serenity now.

*It's a word. Really.

p.s. Thanks, Ann Marie, for your help.

Just wanted to say I am so sorry I missed the blogfest! And I was only an hour away. I had blacked out from the heat and the Dr's orders were rest ...INSIDE!!!

I can't understand why you can't download all those photos straight onto your nice new computer?

Hope it all works out for you. Sounds like you had a bit of a warm weekend there!

ghostless-The heat has been terrible. Glad to hear from you and hope you're recovering. We can get together another time - maybe you can give a tour of your new home and I can finally meet some of your pets, including Tonic.

Annie-Unfortunately I don't have a new computer, although I do have a brand new way of getting on to the internet. (Just upgraded the internet connection from dial-up to broadband.) In this case it wasn't the computer's fault, surprisingly. My memory card had too many photos on it, and the camera didn't want to communicate with the computer.

So Ann Marie has taken the memory card home to...actually I'm not sure what she's going to do to fix it, but she knows what she's doing.

Thanks again, Ann Marie, for coming over and helping me with this. Can't wait to see the photos.

Now it's off to the paying job after about 4 hours of sleep, which is approximately 5 hours less than I need to function.

You two are such gullible fools!
I knew if I got you to drink that 2nd bottle of wine that CBW would hand over that memory card and Re would get it fixed and download the pictures right into my mischievous little hands...

*dancing around the room*
I have all your pictures.. I have all your pictures..

Deep breaths! It will be okay. The card and the photos will be just fine. Just keep breathing until it is all done.

I treat every single one of my flash cards like they are the children of my own womb. Yes, it's a sickness, but one that will never ever be cured. I FIRST load them onto an external drive, then to one of the drives on my computer, from there I burn it to a DVD and seal it in a envelope and stash it in my fireproof safe. Like I said, it's a sickness.

Once I've done all that, I load the pics onto another drive and then process the RAW images and go from there. Only after I've done all that, do I delete anything off of the flash cards. It's like an OCD thing, but having lost about 1000 photos of Gaby from when she was 6-8 months, I just don't take chances any more. And um yeah, I'd need some heavy duty medication before handing off my flash cards to ANYONE. But Re is awesome and I'm sure she'll take care of your babies for you!

Can't wait to see the pics!

$20 SD card reader from Best Buy. Do NOT buy the $13 universal one from Wal-Murk; my co-worker just had to return one today that had a bent pin and was unusable. Cheap.

Now. What was that about wine?

Wine!
The SD reader is the bomb. Mine is from Wal Mutant, but it was free and so far it works. Saves me having to bum computer time from sons.
Can't wait to see your pictures! Maybe Ann Marie will post them ALL on facebook before returning the SD card?

My desktop computer AND my printer can both read an SD card! One thing I usually try to do but am not always successful is backing up photos to an external USB drive. Seriously - buy a good one, a LARGE one - and back up your photos.
