Bohannon

This delightful old place sits on the side of the road in Bohannon, which is part of the greater Mobjack metropolitan area.

Just typing "the greater metropolitan Mobjack area" makes me chuckle.

May your weekend be chock full of sunshine and chuckles.

Google Maps was made for me. I looked up Mathews, Bohannon and Mobjack.
I see if you drive from Mathews to Bohannon and then to Mobjack, it would be about 13 miles and take you about 27 minutes, so you wouldn't be driving very fast, maybe 30mph.
I like that.
I looked up Bohannon and see it is actually classified as being in the Virginia Beach-Norfolk metro area, which doesn't sound nearly as good as the greater Mobjack metropolitan area. You're right.
Elevation is 10 feet.
Absolutely gotta love a place whose elevation is 10 feet.
That puts it 'way ahead of, let's see, the Salton Sea in southern California, the elevation of which is about 200 feet below sea level, not to mention it is grossly overpopulated (in the winter) as is the rest of California (most of the time).
I now see I have spent entirely too much of my time traveling to, through, and away from California, and not nearly enough time in Virginia, which I thought was very pretty when friends took me there for a scenic drive one day in 1976.
Different coasts for different folks, I guess, but I can't help thinking how mistaken I've been.

This reminds me of the time I was talking to my dad and I brain farted, couldn't get the phrase "middle peninsula" to come out, so instead I said "tri county area" he actually snort-laughed at me and said "where?" Color me embarrassed! LOL

a very nice metropolitan area...no traffic lights, well, no traffic. I like that.
Please like "Pedigree" dog food on Facebook today. A bag of dog food will be donated to a shelter for each like!

Kay, I saw a documentary about the Salton Sea and wasn't that the place they tried to develop, only it went belly-up and isn't anything today like they intended it to be?

"Bohannon" makes me wanna just keep singing that song: Banana, banna, bohannon... or something like that.
