Sunrise on Queens Creek

Sunset on Queens Creek

Have a fantastic weekend.

p.s. Sunday is Middle Sister's birthday.  We won't get to see her, but we wish her a very happy day.

Not to rush time or anything, but it is September yet? Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to a weekend at your house more than my week vacation? Love the photos especially the one with the sun's reflection on the water.

Re your last on the west coast takes on a decidedly unlucky aspect (along with lack of travel funds), in the light of a Mathews gathering in September. As a follower of your blog and your friends' comments, you have all become very dear and it would be so much fun to meet all of you. Grrr. I hope there will be great coverage of the event so readers such as myself can enjoy the spirit of the gathering. After reading D.J.'s comment last post, it especially pains me to know that CB Mom has sung to "Sex Machine" in the past..I am known for singing James Brown songs (but my mashed potato-dancing is more hopeless than in my youth.) I was famous in high school in the 60's for singing "Cool Jerk", when the song came out. (I just saw Bootsy Collins sing that song backed by the Funk Bros. in the documentary "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" and I am re-inspired.)
Your sunrise photos are divine. Doesn't The Islander call to you when you see it ? If I won a big lottery, I would be tempted to renovate and re-open it, fiscally viable or not.
So happy that a year later since your son's surgery that he has done so well I hope he has had a great week of adventures.

DJ-It's not September yet, but it's gaining on us. (I selfishly don't want it to get here too soon, because I have a house to clean up first!)

Dan - You're very welcome. Thanks for reading and commenting.

LLC-I will be sure to post pictures and excerpts from the festivities. If you do a search on "blog fest" on the right column it will bring up posts about past events involving this crew. James Brown was part of the karaoke night. There is a video out there on various sites that include the singing and dancing and carrying on that occurred that night. (Notice I am vague about the names of those sites...)

The Islander always calls out to me, I have so many fond memories of that place.

Wish you could be here for the September gathering. I thoroughly enjoy your contribution to the comments section and just know you'd fit right in with this bunch.
