Here are a few more scenes from last weekend's Market Days.
In case I neglected to mention it, the weather was absolutely beautiful.
This is a not-so-great shot of one oh-so-quirky bird. (I'm not talking about the human, just to clarify.) |
Now these people know how to live. Hats! (I really don't mean any harm, but does anyone else think he resembles Captain Kangaroo? I loved that show, by the way.) |
It was a great weekend.
Speaking of the weekend, next I'll share
some pictures from Sunday's adventure that included a
boat ride with friends from high school to yet another
birthday celebration on a deserted Mathews County beach.

loving the arts and crafts...
especially the quilts!!
great fun
Wish I had been there, although the quilts might have made me cry.
My dear friend from high school lost most of her sight last year. She was a wonderful quilter and seamstress, cook and gardener, photographer and...well, she was amazing.
And still is...she has a bit of peripheral vision in one eye, so she's still gardening and cooking and is talking about sewing again.
When I grow up I want to be as brave as she is.

I've been researching weather Virginia, hoping to put my feet in the Atlantic sometime soon.
I want a pith helmet. I think it would look dashing with my rubber ducky. And yes, I immediately thought of the Captain when I saw that gentleman. Also, I'm in love with the fictitious captain on those posters. And I want that patriotic chicken rug. Really, I NEED it.
oh i love all this stuff .. wish i had been there .. signed up to get you delivered to my inbox so now i wont miss a single CBW adventure due to work!
I do think you have a thing for sultry sea captains. That one glass and wire piece would make a cool hummingbird feeder, wouldn't it? Beautiful artwork here! I'm looking forward to your party at the deserted beach. Fun.
Love that umbrella quilt!!
Wish I could have been there, but....
You know how that goes. Thanks for sharing your day. Maybe next year.
Nice artwork everywhere...if you love sultry sea captains, perhaps you have seen the original Rex Harrison/
Gene Tierney movie, " The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" ?
If the pith helmet man wears bangs on his forehead, then he must be a Capt. Kangaroo fan, too.

I know that dude! I have to agree it could be the Captain's brother
