On Vacation

In honor of it being the first day of my vacation, blogger.com has decided to cause trouble for me, where trouble equals sheer panic and hysteria. I can post but I can't read anything. And this comes directly on the heels of a fleeting thought I had recently which was, "I wonder if something ever happened to blogger.com if I would ever be able to retrieve everything I've written since, naturally, I have not saved it anywhere else." It is precisely because I thought this that blogger.com decided to break down. I know, they told me.

Update: If anyone else is experiencing this problem, delete the sitemeter (which appears to have been contributing to the problem). Access your blog by going to blogger.com (assuming that's who you use) and signing in there, then go to Dashboard, then to Layout and delete sitemeter there.

Today is the first day of vacation and the first day of no internet access for a week, unless soupisnotafingerfood lets me use her laptop one day.

Before I go, I have a confession: My name is Chesapeake Bay Woman, and I have an internet addiction. I am a blog-a-holic.

How in the world I am going to make it for so many days without spending hours on here is well beyond my comprehension.

In the interim, I wish everyone a wonderful week.

To entertain me when I return, and assuming people are able to get on here and comment (because I can't as of today), please answer the following question for me:

If you could be a tree, what type of tree would you be? (Just kidding. Really.)

OK, here's the question:

Who in your family or your circle of friends is the most eccentric, weird, bizarre, or just plain hilarious? Describe them and their peculiarities.

I want to laugh at other families, I'm getting tired of laughing at my own.

Have a fantastic week full of peace, laughter and happiness.

-Chesapeake Bay Woman

p.s. If you haven't had a chance to, take a gander at my mother's write-up in the post prior to this one.

oh and now I have to go put all my security setting back to "medium" since I put them on "low" thinking that was the problem.

Have a great vacation week and remember, all the frustrations will be good blog material, so hang in there - we need you to come back and tell all.

Where do you go for a vacation when you live in paradise? Do you go to the city to see some skyscrapers for a change of scenery? The good thing about Blog-a-holics is we are not anonymous!!

I would be a cheese tree.

As for the most eccentric, weird, bizarre, or just plain hilarious family member, it's sort of a crapshoot, depending on the day, and why anyone might voluntarily be shooting crap is beyond me. But the easy answer is:

DAD.

~ He sang "I Love Paris in the Springtime" from the back seat as we drove through Versailles, only he sang it like Elmer Fudd.
~ He once wore a birthday party cone hat all day long as he sat as his desk doing his payroll. I did get a picture of it.
~ In a fit of annoyance he once barked, "Tell him to go to arpeggios and take some samples!" Yeah, no one here had any idea what it meant, either.

Have a WONDERFUL WEEK, CBFamily! Then hurry back and tell us all about it, complete with more of those fantastic photos of yours.

Love,

Laurie

Hello, Anyone who happens to still be coming here. The CBFamily is all assembled under one roof, and so far no injuries have been sustained. So far.

To jolt my memory about what I need to write about when I return, here is a list:
*bathing suits + surf = fiasco
*location of house vs. beach (where house is in one state on the east coast and the beach is located on Planet Neptune)
*hamburger meat (unrefrigerated, in a bedroom)
*crowds, crowds, crowds (with an extra dose of people)
*grocery shopping. with the entire state of North Carolina
*beach = crowds
*daily pack mule routine
*jockey's ridge.

OK, that is enough for now. I'll fill in the blanks when I return, which should be another two years based on how long this vacation seems already.

CBMother is also writing some stuff, so stay tuned.

HOOOO-ray!

Particularly interested in the hamburger-in-the-bedroom story (a risky vacation proposition in California, where we have bears).

Have a wonderful time, and WEAR SUNSCREEN.

What I'm interested in is:
"bathing suits + surf = fiasco"

Did CBW have a wardrobe malfunction in the sea?

I'm finally back from my own little holiday and now you've gone and taken off! Hmmmmph! Well I'll just have to sit and gaze upon all your other photos until you return.

Oh and I'd totally be a willow! *lol*

Seriously, I'll have to think about the other ponderable and get back to ya! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday and that no boats sank, no crabs invaded, and you didn't fall up any stairs.

My entire family is quirky... way too much material there to fill this comment box. Let's just leave it that I come by my own quirkiness quite naturally. In fact the really strange thing would be if I had not turned out so quirky!

Fear not readers, my beach week and CBW's are wrapping up today and we head north tomorrow. I predict she'll be back on her blog before the first suitcase is unpacked! And I bet she will be happy to be back to her old-fashioned MOUSE instead of my tricky touch-pad. :-)

I cannot wait to hear about that hamburger in the bedroom episode.

I use a wireless mouse with my laptop. I taped a piece of card stock across the touchy touch pad to prevent my curser from jumping all over the place when I try to type. It solved the problem.
Hurry back CBW. You have a whole lot of catching up to do.. I'm having withdrawals.

CBw,
Today is the day. You will be back. I miss you. There has been no point in turning on the computer this week. It has been empty without you. Hope you had lots of fun in the sun.
Love ya

...Hi CBW! I second what 'cats' said up there. I'll be glad when you return, that's for sure! ;o)

...And you sparked my curiousity with this one: *bathing suits + surf = fiasco lol...

...Hello CBMom! Hope ya'll had fun! And "hello!" to the rest of your commenters up there too! I feel like I'm part of a big family when I visit here. It's nice(*smile*)...

...Happy Saturday & blessings ya'll...
