This site is about my life growing up and growing older in Mathews County, a rural, water-bound community on the way to nowhere in particular.

Perspective
I know I am weird and everything, but am I the only one who finds the shot above interesting? (Don't answer that I already know. It's OK. Don't feel bad if you don't even have a clue what this is a picture of. It's fine, really.)
Sometimes I think something has to be wrong with me to find so much to say about Not a Whole Lot. Does that make sense? (Don't answer that, I don't want to know.)
If a picture's worth a thousand words, why do I feel compelled to pile another couple thousand on top? My brain is like a spigot. Once I turn it on, thoughts, words and pictures just flow forth, unencumbered, in no particular order, whether they make sense or not. It's hard sometimes to put a filter on this spigot.
Maybe I should look into a Brita, extra heavy duty.
In this particular case, though, I am not going to say a word.
Happy Labor Day Weekend, everyone. Enjoy the last bits of laughter and frivolity in the swing that is summer.

I am totally and completely in love with this photo, which might be my favorite one you have EVER posted. It's gorgeous. Love love love love. Seriously.
Happpy labour day from your favourite Canadian fan.
Bear((( )))
I love your swing! If you swing high enough can you propel yourself into the water? It looks like you could.
For a wordless no word post you sure do have the spigot open full bore.
Have a nice weekend, and save some of that wine. :))
That is a beautiful shot. Happy weekend to you all!
Words pouring out like water from a spigot... Yep. That happens to me. And I have to tell you - it only gets worse, the older I get. Sometimes I wish I could just shut up
Oh my goodness! I love this picture so much! VERY, very pretty! It exudes peacefulness!
Love the colours!
Actually I just love to sit and stare at your photos and words, because having just dropped Meg off at college, I have no words which aren't sopping wet at the moment. So I'm just gonna park myself right here and drown myself in Mathews County!
Oh, dear, Auds. I am so sorry about the baby leaving the nest. (She is absolutely beautiful, btw.)
Feel free to hang out here all you wnat, but your eyes may go crossed and you may start babbling incoherently because of my inane writing. Just look at the pictures.
For anyone else reading this (and there isn't, I checked), please go to Auds' site and read about how she got her hair caught in a vacuum cleaner. You will be rolling on the floor with laughter. It was several days ago...Wednesday I think.
Also, Foolery told the same story but from a different angle, equally as hialrious.
Poor Auds. Hang in there. Just don't hang on the vacuum cleaner.
To everyone else, Happy Long Weekend and thanks for dropping by. - cbw
I hate typos. Hate 'em. I do it all the time. Hate it.
I love different focus levels and that's what you've done here. Very good.
I just wanted to stop in and say hi and thank you for your comment on my blog. It makes me feel better to know that there is an end to all of this, and that I will come out of it a stronger person!
Thanks...and your pictures are beautiful! I wouldn't mind climbing on that swing right about now!
...Hello CBW! Beautiful photo and I loved this: "Enjoy the last bits of laughter and frivolity in the swing that is summer." - beautiful!
...I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
...Blessings... :o)
It's called, FREE FLIGHT OF IDEAS!
And it's great, your pictures are lovely. And I like to read your rambling musings, my brain goes just like yours but your funnier. How is your mom after that last tumble is she ok?
Dear Brita,
How I love this photo. Does this make me weird? Probably not; it's all that OTHER stuff that makes me weird.
Sky = blue
Water = blue
Whaa?? Your sky is sort of mauve and the water is orange. This flies in the face of EVERYTHING I learned from "Sesame Street." I'm either starting a migraine or that's a gorgeous photo and I want to live in Mathews.
Love,
The Culligan Man (who has never had a migraine but has been the genesis of several, probably)
