Silent Sunday

The other day I had to travel to the neighboring town of West Point. On the ride home I stopped at Freeport, which is where one of my German ancestors supposedly hopped off the boat to start a new life.

This field is on the left as you drive down to the water. Speaking of new life, the entire field was loaded with new grass and tiny white flowers that almost looked like snow (pictured very poorly in the foreground here).

My focus was almost exclusively on the field and whether or not someone was going to drive up and ask me what I was doing. In the end what stands out is the sky, which I didn't even notice at the time.

Aha..yes, very nice sky! I wish it were a bit more like that sky here in NY at the moment..it has been quite overcast and rainy for a few days...oh well.

I get to meet Daryl today! That will be good! I hope you have a great (silent?) Sunday too!

Annie - Lucky you...tell Daryl hello. Big Hair Envy is also meeting her. It's like Blog Fest of the North. Y'all have fun and be sure to give us a full report of the festivities.

I thought those white flowers were a gravel road! What are they? Oh never mind. I wish you were coming up here with BHE and company...we could have quite the pre-blogfest;)

MPM - I wish so too. Instead I've got a week of work to look forward to. And now I can add grass cutting to the list.

We need some follow up on those tiny white flowers. You know, a close up picture.
I hope your German ancestor jumped ship close to land.

I won't be meeting anyone of importance today.

Nice picture - nice to see the world around us emerging from a cold, dormant state.

How on earth do you Mathews people know when you've reached the Ugly Part of Town? Because Jeez Louise, EVERYTHING is a picture where you live!

Unless, of course, you're just stealing photos off of the internet and passing them off as Mathews. ; )
