I'll begin.
1. The barn above is on the way to one of the county beaches and was not taken during this week's snowstorm, nor was it taken in last week's snowstorm, but I believe it was the storm from the week before that. Who knows, they all blend together, but one thing's for sure: we're getting snow here every week.
2. Last Saturday a new 7-11 opened up in Hudgins where the old Zooms used to be. The Zooms used to be a Little Sue back in the day. The old 7-11 was at Ward's Corner where the new Little Sue now sits. (Or maybe it's changed hands again, who knows.) My point is this: 7-11 and Little Sue have merely swapped locations. Last weekend during the grand opening of the new 7-11, they had 11-cent coffees and 11-cent slurpees. It's been
3. Although there was snow on the ground this morning, there are also daffodils blooming in my yard. Daffodils are my favorite flower not just for sentimental reasons (my grandfather was a commercial grower) but because they are among the very first brave souls to burst through the cold, hard winter soil. They are very cheerful, happy, hopeful flowers.
Now, it's your turn to share three or more things, whatever you want, anything at all. Slurpees, seasons, storms, bizarre business plans for local convenience stores--the sky's the limit on the

Wow..by a mere geographical detail, I get to go first today!
1. Thanks for popping by my crazy traffic signal box post today! They are where all the gizmos are held for working the nearby set of traffic lights. You probably don't have many of them there!
2. I remember when I first shifted back to this city after being in Northern Australia, it used to irk me having to sit at traffic signals doing nothing! Especially when going longer distances and encountering numerous sets of lights. Funny how used to these things you get after time passes. At least a camera in the car these days works a treat usually. Not terribly good for the quality of the photos though, when clicking the shutter in a hurry.
3. On an altogether different note, I once took off to visit my parents on the other side of this large town, and remember getting very sleepy. I drove all the way there, slept for several hours, then drove all the way home again! Wonder what my parents thought?
4. On a somewhat related note to number 3, my son in law in NYC said he read/heard of someone sleeping for 13 days. They had to be woken up to be fed their meals!
4. Amazing how quite off the subject one can get here eh?
5. I wish my sciatica would get better. I'd like to be able to walk properly again when I get up from resting one day!
ps My WV was SEDOC...I have already been to see him thrice in a week, since getting home.
this wv FUNWARAT...since when do we need a warrant to have fun?
1. it is supposed to be in the 50's on Saturday and 60's on Sunday.. can't wait to get out there and play with Razzi.
2. The sunrise is beautiful this morning but because I have children who would rip each others eyes out if I left them to get ready for school on their own I have it sit here and look at it from my window instead of at the beach.
3. Work has been a bit crazy the last couple of days...
4. I have to go to the funeral home tonight and to a funeral tomorrow and the only thing I can think will fit me is a large black shower curtain.
5. Up for a bit of therapy after I leave there??
1)My children went to 7-11 at least three times a day for the past week. Each time they helped themselves to an extra large slurpee.
2)Due to #1 I am sure that there are several teachers at MHS that are ready to hunt me down. DD #3 simply does not need more sugar in her day.
3)I am a little more picky and couldn't drink the 11cent coffee. Today however, I managed to almost recreate a coffee from my all time favorite coffee house on 11th St in DC. Having a great cup of coffee, and having it while sitting in Mathews is a great way to start my day.
1) The joys of home-based self-employment: it's 2pm, and I am once again working at the computer in my dressing gown, having not showered or brushed my teeth yet. Yuk! Must get a grip.
2) I can see I'm not going to have daffodils this year, because delightful whippet puppy is eating all the heads off (and then coming indoors to be sick in dark corners).
3) I weakly bought a coat yesterday that I don't really like, because the saleswoman was very energetic, and I felt too embarrassed to walk out without buying it. How pathetic is that? Am REALLY annoyed with myself for being so feeble, and kept waking up last night to give myself a hard time.
1. The sun is shining and the temperature will creep above freezing for the first time in months. I am very happy;
2. I am in fact, exceedingly happy, as it is Spring break, and the Four are all at home;
3. Actually, ECSTATICALLY happy , as a quick glance at the calendar has just shown me that my closest friend has a medical appointment today, and I will be minding her three children for the day. So, in this house will be... two 8 year olds, two 6 year olds, two 4 year olds, one 2 year old, two black labradors and one slightly (slightly? who am I kidding?) crazy mother.
Also, an about-to-be-emptied refrigerator.
Did you see GrandmaJ found some fabulous coffee at 7-11 ...
I bet she didnt pay 11 cents for it
Dont tell her about your 11 cent slurpee
Its a nice day here, a rarity after weeks of snow .. and this weekend we're due to get temps in the 50s ... I am giddy ..
WV taketi .. take t, take r, take whatever letter you want ... just remember to bring it back when you're done
1. I cannot wait for daffodils up here!
2. That's it.
1. Going to pick my son up from VT for spring break this weekend. 2. No more daily questions, I forget sometimes that some people have to work for a living and don't have time for my crap. 3. Don't get me started on daffodils .Off line most of next week. MM
1. They have free slurpees on at 7-11 on 7-11(July 11) but the slurpees are 1 ounce.
2. We have a 7-11 around the corner from us. Going there with friends is a rite of passage during 4th and 5th grade.
3.I came home on my lunch break about 20 minutes ago and the dog hasn't yet come out to say hi.
1. Not happy that the former Little Sue in Deltaville is now a 7-11, it's just not right....
2.Think I saw a couple of daffy-dills poking up out of the ground which is a welcome sight after all this snow.
3. I think this year will be know as the year of the residential ghost investigations as I am starting to deal with more than I can humanly handle...
1. The crocuses are our first flower - daffodils are only up about 2".
2. Can't WAIT for the daffodils!
3. And the spring peepers.
4. I. am. boring. Or maybe I'm just bored...
OK, I have three more (it has been a .... tiresome day):
1. We have no prospect of daffodils until AT LEAST the end of May. Please stop mocking me;
2. A trip to Ikea during Spring Break, with SIX children near LUNCHTIME is not a smart move;
3.Thanks to the beautiful sunshine, he snow has receded two inches (don't worry, plenty is left), and I have just spent a happy hour removing newly exposed turdsicles;
3a. I had to google 7-11. I wondered why you were talking about 7th November. Or 11th July.
1. Today my American cocker Lucy is 2 years old.
2. My granddaughter, who is 9 1/2 months, can read the word clap. She will clap her hands as soon as she sees it.
3. I went through my closet and removed about 10 purses that I will never use again...here they come Good Will. That felt good.
oh thank heaven! i love living EXTREMELY close to 7-11. We constantly buy slurpee's and chicken salad sandwiches. I'll miss it when I move. I won't miss all this traffic near my house though.
and to share my 3 things....
1. today i spent several hours at our soon to be house scraping paint and sanding walls. Sounds like loads of fun I know. I know in the end though it will all be worth it.
2. I seriously thought about complaining to the school board about the easy access to ketchup and salt at lunch time. Sounds crazy I know but ketchup has a lot of salt in it. My oldest comes home so thirsty some days and its usually cause she loaded her food with ketchup and salt. We try to teach our kids to eat healthy and try to limit them on some things. She said some kids take whole bottles of ketchup to their table and hoard it for theirselves.
3. So glad this snow is almost gone! I loathe snow. I grew up in the mountains about 6 hours from here. I moved here cause of the great weather, but this year the snow has been a bit much, for me at least. Glad to see that spring is around the corner.
1. snow in the south is just weird.
2. I'm thinking the snow does however postpone fiddler crab infestations.
3. my fingers are freezing--remind me when I start b*t*ching about heatwaves and sweat that the alternative is snow in the south.
As always I love reading everyone's lists.
Mathews Mark-Spring Break already? Well maybe having your son home will please/appease the ghost in the house. I do want you to tell us about daffodils because I pretty much talked the topic to death last spring and need someone else's stories to fill up this spring. Plus, Pookie made a remark about them, too, so I must get to the bottom of this daffodil dilemma.
Happy Friday Eve!
1. I am late getting here again.
2. I remember that Little Sue.
3. I am so excited that it is going to be a sun shine week end~
<><
1. My husband makes good cookies.
2. There are always cookies.
3. Cookies are the bane of my existence.
