Three Things

This relaxing scene is from last weekend's camping trip over on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay. I contemplated wading out to that little boat and taking it for a spin, but only for a second.

Anyway.

Today is Thursday, which means it's Three Thing Thursday, where I share three things and you share three things.

1. When did June arrive? Have we skipped some years months? Wasn't it just Christmas? Easter?

2. In any case, if it's June that means it's time for me to focus on Blog Fest 2010, July 15-18, when bloggers from all over the map will descend on little old Mathews County. Over the weekend I'll try to concoct a Blog Fest-related post, but the bottom line is--if you're interested in coming, just e-mail me at ChesapeakeBayWoman@gmail.com so I can get your information and keep you up to date on what is happening and the schedule of events, which of course we haven't figured out yet.

3. I am thrilled to announce that the very kind people at Terro, who make all sorts of ant annihilating products, have offered to send me some free samples of various ant-killing products since my liquid bait traps no longer seem to be enough to stop the influx. Oh, how eagerly I await this package. Hopefully it will arrive before the ants stage their coup, which they're slowly building up to every hour of every day that passes.

Now it's your turn to share three things, whatever you want; anything at all.

As long as it's not covered in ants.

1. I'm dressed and all ready for work and have 15 more minutes to kill. Why can't I be like this every day?
2. My husband bought me new mini wheats (my favorite cereal) and they're baby ones. They are seriously cute.
3. What the hell? Did I just say that my mini wheats were cute? Perhaps I should have had more sleep.

Love ya. Mean it!

1. I got all my hair chopped off.. it still took Shim 30 minutes to dry it I have too much hair. She then used a straightening thing to straighten it.. why because like my secret sister at some point in our lives our hair went from straight to having this weird wave thing. I prefer the wave thing will wash and fix it myself today. It is blond.. blonder than my normal blond and was basically told when I got back to Mathews why the F would I do that.. so guess what F them.

2. It has been 3 months today.. it is not a good day. I will be going to get a tattoo on July 2nd. It would be the 16th birthday.

3. My baby cousin is getting married this weekend. I feel INCREDIBLY old but so very proud of the beautiful woman she is and the lucky guy who is walking her down that isle.

4. my skin has taken on the hue of a lobster a nicely cooked one I might add because I don't apply sun block as I should I will be dead of skin cancer with in 3 months if I do this again.

5. I am on number 5 and I could keep going which is a SURE sign of MUCH needed therapy.. after this wedding and I can eat again (can't eat must get fat ass in dress) we MUST get together and blogfest chat and well drink LOTS.

6 I miss you.. the end.

1. I am taking perverse pleasure in calling my husband "gramps". He is not taking any pleasure out of it, which is where most of my pleasure comes in.

2. I can't wait for blogfest. Ants and all. (they really are bad this year, we had them in the house in Deltaville, my son's job was vacuumming them up).

3. I had a heated discussion with my daughter's softball coach. I let him have it. I was spectakular. I'm sure my name is now synonymous with shrew. I don't mind.

1. Perhaps you might give the nice Terro-people my number? Even louder than the sound of children in this house is the scary echo of carpenter ants chomping their way through my house. Which will shortly give a small lurch to the left and heave us all out into the yard.

2. Daughter is very slightly better today, thank you. At last.

3. I love my new iPad. Really, really, REALLY love it.

1. Our high school softball season is over =( Can't ever seem to get past Regionals.
2. Jamie - I would like to employ you to come have a heated discussion with my daughter's softball coach. I seem to have ended any hope she had of playing full time for him by MY heated discussion last season.
3. I need to get a LIFE! I believe I have mentioned this before. Far too much time and energy is expended worrying about softball at my house =)

WV- discon - Maybe we should do some discon at blogfest!

Ann Marie - pics of new do on FB please?????

1. This caught me by surprise - I was off Monday and Tuesday, so this being my second workday of this week it feels like Tuesday, not Thursday.

2. Ima hafta start blogging again soon, otherwise all y'all bloggers will revoke my membership card.

3. In my recent rededication to eating healthier than in the fashion that led to my recent weight gain, I've been eating less and also drinking a LOT of water, and with all the drinking of water plus all the resulting bathroom trips I find I haven't been bothering to drink my usual 3 Diet Cokes each day. Which I suppose is a good thing.

4. Country Girl - mini wheats ARE cute.

Just so you know, I have one feeling-a-bit-better girl, one not-very-well-gastro-girl, and now? One boy with chickenpox. Three down, one to go.

I need xanax. Or ice cream. Or both.

Chesapeake Bay Woman said...

Mrs. F., this is awful news! If I could send xanax I would. Same with the ice cream. Instead, pour yourself some wine if you have some and break out some chocolate. Wine and chocolate are loaded with antioxidants and other good things. Lots of other good things.

Right now I'm wearing a dress and straightening my frizzed out hair (which will only poof out again once I step out into the humidity). I can't remember the last time I wore a dress, I think it was in the 1980s. Can't stand them, not to mention this particular one looked better in the store's dressing room. Now it looks like a muumuu made out of my grandmother's wallpaper.

Headed to 8th grade dinner with CB Son. I can't wait for 8th grade to be officially over and done with.

Feel better Mrs. F and family.

1. I see that the golf cart my neighbor bought now has 1 wheel off and is up on a block. He lives in a huge 3 story house with a small yard..why a golf cart? and why on blocks?
2. It is dammed hot outside and the air conditioning in our car quit. Going to doctor's appts 30 minutes away suck.
3. I'm going to have to get a life. Period.
Oh, Congrats, CBW on your son's 8th grade graduation

Mrs F with 4 said...

Thanks, CBW.. ummm, and guess which adult in this house has NOT had c-pox? yep, that would be me....

My beloved friend Mrs B is on her way with a care parcel containing wine, wet wipes, calamine lotion, chocolate AND ice cream. I think I love her.

Chesapeake Bay Woman said...

Thanks, Deborah. We survived the dinner this evening, now just the ceremony tomorrow and we can declare it all over and done with.

Mrs. F. - Like you, I'd never had the chicken pox before, but when I took my baby boy (when he was a baby) to get his vaccinations, the chicken pox vaccine was all the rage, and they told me to get it so I did. It may be too late after being exposed for you to get one, but you might ask. Chicken pox in adults is no party, or so they say.

I think I love your friend Mrs. B. too. Can you send her to Virginia after she's done tending to your family? Thanks.

Jamie said...

Breezeway- I would be happy to have a heated discussion with another softball coach. All I'd ask for is a shared bottle of wine. Or maybe my own bottle.

We are done with softball now, my daughter refuses to place again after the horror that was this season. Now we are already discussin basketball. We need help

1. Mrs. F, I hope you checked into the chicken pox shot. Had 'em as an adult (and as a baby) and it was a life-changing event. No, REALLY.

2. Surprisingly high humidity = nails actually growing. It won't last, though.

3. So grouchy lately that I hate myself. Can't shake what makes me grouchy, so here I sit.
