Three Things

Welcome to Three Thing Thursday, where I share three things and you share three things on any topic whatsoever, assuming it's rated PG-13; PG-23 if you're Mathews Mark.

Let's begin
.

1. Although it looks like every other another photo I posted recently, the sunrise above happened yesterday. Stumbling around cussing looking for something clean to wear to work, I glanced out the window. These scenes change very quickly, so I dropped what I was doing (namely, dressing), ran to the kitchen to wrench the camera from its case, and darted onto the back deck to snap away.

Thankfully, the man who fishes crab pots right off my shoreline had not made his way around yet. Otherwise he'd probably be writing a blog post somewhere about the crazy lady standing on her deck wearing not much more than a camera.

2. I'm trying to get a headcount for Blog Fest, that little Mathews County shin dig we're throwing here in a few short weeks, three to be exact.

If you'd like to attend and haven't already done so, please e-mail me at ChesapeakeBayWoman@gmail.com.

Details are forthcoming, as soon as I make them up I promise. In the meantime, if anyone knows where I can borrow or rent a landscaper, a maid and a chef a margarita machine and a karaoke machine let me know.

3. The Gwynns Island Festival is Saturday. Anyone interested in purchasing 50-50 raffle tickets should look for the frizzy-haired, middle-aged, yellow-ticket-holding woman wearing a crazy crab hat. She no doubt will be flustered because she can't talk and chew gum sell tickets at the same time, which also means that anyone who hands her more than exact change can expect to receive inexact change. Tickets are one dollar apiece. The winner splits the proceeds with the Gwynns Island Civic League; last year's winner took home over $700.00. Not a bad deal for a dollar.

Now it's your turn to share three things, whatever you want. Anything at all.

1. Oh, CBW, how do you ever get anything DONE with photo ops like that presenting themselves constantly?
2. We don't need no steenkin' lannscaper, maid, chef, margari -- well, we *do* need a margarita machine, but . . . just let us show up. I promise you it'll be FUN without ANYTHING extra at all! We'll need steenkin' badges, though.
3. The crab fisherman would NOT be writing a blog post about you. Ahem. Please be careful. ; )

1. I tok lots of photographs yesterday, mainly of old stone barns. Nothing like as good as yours though;
2. I also moved a lot of sheep around different fields, repaired dry-stone walls, and remembered why I don't love chickens;
3. Can you tell I am on holiday?

1. Love the sun dropping outta the sky there. Well done. Good shot. Though it came with a lot more info than we needed. Now we all have an image of...never mind...the crab fisherman writing a blog post.

2. Minding grandchildren is quite fun. Especially when they go to school, and creche (once a week).

3. It would be much nicer if their Mum hadn't had a very invasive ear operation. Get well soon, Mummy! And that the 6 year old didn't get sick at school and have to come home at lunchtime. And the 3 year old who got an ear ache in the night. And the Daddy who broke his bed by sitting on it. And if I could work out how the stove, vacuum, and the roller garage door worked. Oh my aching back. And legs.
And my baby boy in NYC is not well.

4. I can't believe blog fest is in 3 weeks. Gosh, how the time flies. have fun. Wish I were there!

wv aeddly...how did they know that it was me...a bit "aeddly" today..can't work out anything.

1. my mother is still breathing and I am still a free woman... not a easy thing to have accomplished.. I deserve dinner at my favorite restaurant.. I hope!

2. we will go tour the campus today.. I wonder how stupid I will look with my camera slung around my neck.. probably pretty dumb.

3. I can't wait for blog fest but CBW I think we need to get together like... ummm this coming week! I am booked solid through Monday evening I think.

1. I've realized how lax I've been in taking photos for the joy of taking photos... I will have to rectify that Saturday while in NYC

2. I am headed south July 4th weekend definitely... thank goodness, I need a mental holiday

3. I like chickens

1. If I had a sunrise like that, I would have missed it because I am stellar at noticing beautiful things like that.
2. There are 1,000 mosquitoes living in my house and I suspect they have something to do with the wet towels living on my daughter's floor.
3. Is there a way to connect my phone to my computer and thus transfer my library book to my phone?

I hope you dont find the karaoke machine unless you find the marg machine because it will take a lot of margs (no salt thank you) to make my singing sound good

I would have done the same, dropped the clothes, grabbed the camera ..

And I am already packing in my head for this fabulous weekend ... H&H bagels will be brought ...

2. I love my husband dearly even though he can be a real bugger at times!

3. My cat needs to learn to tell time so he doesn't wake me up at 4:30 in the morning!

1. I am thrilled beyond words that my Sister Person is free.

2. I am so extremely bitter that my soon-to-be-ex-husband is paying me back with the money he is receiving from the retirement fund I funded before marrying him.

3. The fact that he got most of the friends in the whole matter makes me realized who was really my friend and makes me question if it's not worth the money to know that.

1. I still need to find out who wants Blog Fest tumblers so I can get them ordered the first part of next week.

2. The design we had chosen for the tumblers? It's been discontinued. GAH!

3. I think I'll just have to make an executive decision on the design. Is that alright?

1. What kind of wieners are you talking about Dad... Do I have to start worrying about you? Please someone find him a date stat!
2. I don't know if anyone here is going to the corn hole tournament, if you are, prepare to lose!
3. This will be the last time I stand over my Dad and correct his spelling, punctuation, and grammar. I don't even think I got all of it! Geez Dad, next time I will just write the dam thing. Your making us look like a bunch of dummies. Haha, love ya ole fart.

OK, this is better than Christmas. First of all, thanks for all the comments, love reading them, they're always good on Thursdays.

Second, Junior Mathews Mark is commenting! This is better than Christmas, birthday and every other holiday combined. Jr. MM - we welcome any and all of your commentary, especially those that involve your father, who WILL be attending Blog Fest, because if he doesn't come to Blog Fest, Blog Fest will come to him. You need to come as well, Jr.MM- this will be something you don't want to miss.

1. Just 3 weeks??? I need to pack!

2. That sunrise is beautiful! I expect a repeat...in just 3 weeks.

3. Yup. I'll be there in my shanty in 3 weeks!

1. If the man with the crabs did see you, he's sitting at the bar telling his friends about the mermaid he saw,,
2. That job is filled. I'll be your maid, landscaper, chef-well cook anyway, dishwasher, laundress, bartender and anything else for views like that! (if an old tired ratty-haired depressed person is okay?) Oh, I love cats, too.
3. It is miserably hot, and after many years of tolerating the heat, I am finding that I can't take the heat now. Shoot, I used to work on top of coke ovens and had to wear wooden shoes to keep the soles from melting off my work boots. Now I'm a wimp. But, I will be more than happy to do whatever you need for views like that-

Chesapeake Bay Woman said...

Deborah - You're hired! When can you start? I will have the guest room ready for you in no time.

FYI-Ratty-haired and depressed are minimum requirements for living around here, so you'll fit right in. Unfortunately we do have Amazon heat and humidity, but thus far the air conditioning still works, unlike most every other appliance or utility in this house.

Welcome aboard!

1. I secretly hope no one finds a karaoke machine.
2. That sunset was worth the nudity.
3. Please don't let Daryl sing.
