It was a gorgeous, gorgeous moon.
Let your eyes wander slowly from that moon up high down to the horizon which slowly turns from pink to blue.
"The water is my tranquilizer," is my new favorite saying, but the water plus a sunset plus a full moon? That's Heaven on Earth.
The more I'm here and the
Anyway, Mondays--which are not especially popular with most people to begin with--are particularly difficult for me. It isn't just the getting up and going to work, but it's the leaving part. Just leaving the county is drudgery. Even if I had the same hour-long commute but could stay within the confines of this county, I'd be fine with that.
Instead, the car takes me from this rural retreat to the urban jungle which becomes more and more repulsive every time I see it. Toss in the monotony and, quite frankly, the ridiculosity (it's a word) of my paying job, and you'll know why I would never want to leave here.
Once you have heard the lark, known the swish of feet through hill-top grass and smelt the earth made ready for the seed, you are never again going to be fully happy about the cities and towns that man carries like a crippling weight upon his back. ~Gwyn Thomas
To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life. ~John Burroughs
Take one full moon rising over the creek, add the scent of cold air mixed with salt water and a hint of a brush fire off in the distance. Sprinkle generously with the absence of sound except for the heartbeat of the universe and the calls of the occasional bird. This is the recipe for Calm. To achieve the opposite result, throw in a Monday, a commute to the city, and a day full of ridiculosity. (It really is a word.) - Chesapeake Bay Woman
May your day be filled with calm and not ridiculosity. (Seriously, it's

If you got a job delivering papers you could live your dream!!!
j/k
I don't think the benefits are quite as good and you don't get Christmas off.

My feelings exactly, although now I have achieved the impossible and no longer have to commute to the city, I'm finding that I am not always accompanied by calm...
Full moons, the best time to watch submarine races at Haven beach! This leads into my question for the day. Were was your favorite place to watch "Submarine Races"? MM
yea yea calm and tranquil.. blah blah blah.. get me the hell outta here will ya..
I need a bit of cement mixed with starbucks on every corner and a homeless dude or two beggin for change. Maybe then I will be happy..
Ok I doubt it..
why does it have to be Monday already??
WV fibbeth- Maybe this thing knows I fibbeth when I spew about my dislike of this area?
I feel the same way about my neighborhood - the minute I turn onto my street, my blood pressure drops to normal and I feel so much better. I don't mind being out and about in civilization, but I do prefer chillin' in my home. A lot.
I would have an awful hard time leaving that beautiful spot, too. In fact, I have done it, and it was so sad...
You said visitor and I thought monthly visitor. I like your interpretation much better.
CBW we missed you at Sanpiper Reef Saturday night The place was jumping great music Big,Big crowd And gorgeous Women (I fell in love 3 times) but I had to work. Ok I know you bloggers no what submarine races are so answer the freakin question Please. MM
Crap I was just nicely reminded via gmail that I had not answered MM's question.. Sand Bank or Harper's Creek each equally tasteful.
WV: Lence... Come here you got a few lence on your jacket.
Gorgeous, simply gorgeous!
I retired as soon as I could because I hated getting up and leaving. I only like leaving when it's my idea, not because I have to.
I try not to let Monday bring me down. Especially this Monday after not having the annoying person sitting across from me for 5 whole days I know she will be back today and making very loud SIGHING and TSKING and HUMMING noises as she works which make me want to slap her silent .. oh how I miss the days before she existed ... AND I am SO over her house shopping, purchase, painting, sanding .. I AM OVER IT and I am seriously thinking of hiring a hitman
AND I am SO annoyed at me .. I forgot the full moon
Can someone tell that stupid cow that a COURIER is someone who takes papers overseas and a MESSENGER is someone who delivers papers/packages within the borough.
Beautiful post! Made me think of one of my favorite quotes..."The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears, or the sea." - Isak Dineson. Know just how you feel about hating to leave your county. Even living in the thriving metropolis of Gloucester (ha!) I still feel as if I've gone to "the bad side" when I venture across the bridge to the Peninsula. Can't get back to my dirt road, my screened porch and my view of the river quickly enough!
I watched the moon set this morning at 6am. It was absolutely gorgeous.
Of course, you do live on one of the most beautiful pieces of property around.
Mondays are the worst for me except when I am off!
<><
Full Moons and Mondays....they both spell trouble;)
Why, oh, why does the moon look so much better in your sky than in ours?
Sigh.
And you're completely correct - water is a great tranquilizer. The best, in my estimation.
You sound peaceful; that's a mighty powerful thing, and I'm thrilled for you - you deserve the best of everything.
