More Green

In addition to the nightly thunderstorms soybeans,
the corn crops are doing their part to contribute
to all the green we're enjoying around here lately.

These particular fields live near Freeport Landing in Gloucester.

Just past the corn are some soybeans.

I took these Friday evening on my way to join friends (including her) in hoppin' downtown West Point, Virginia, about 30 minutes away.  A band was playing in their Town Square.  What an enjoyable way to spend a Friday evening. West Point also happens to be home to none other than the paper mill  the crab carnival, which I hope to attend this year for the first time.  Guess which hat I'll be wearing.

And yes, once again, a blog which is supposed to be about Mathews is talking about some other place.

Dear Mathews County,

I do love you. Really.

Hugs,
CBW

Oooh! Oooh! I'd love to see some photos of West Point if you take your camera. Mathews will forgive you if you momentarily post a few shots of another town. Also, photos of the crab hat--can't get enough of those.

I can't speak for the others, but I'm certainly enjoying the regional tour.

It sounds as though you had a great time in the Town of West Point. During your visit did you and BHE run across any convertibles.

The crab carnival sounds like an excellent idea. I've always wanted to go,but never have. Although i will one of these years.

CBW,your photos are wonderful no matter where the shots are taken. Keep em coming!

I love all the green, too. We better enjoy it while we can because before we know it , all those pretty green plants will turn yellow....then brown (Yuck! Don't like brown.). But on the bright side, Mother Nature will soon be putting on her coat of many colors.

I've never been to the Crab Carnival either. Maybe someday.
