Yesterday, on the way to a million and one errands, I took a spin down Bohannon.
I hadn't been to this part of Mathews in two years, maybe three a month of Sundays.
This particular building screamed for me to pay it some attention.
Not being the arguing sort, I did.
Gladly.
It was a productive trip.
(However, the weather continues to be less than cooperative. If we don't see the sun soon, there's going to be a CBW-led revolt.)

The sun finally came out here. Come back! xoxo
those signs are fabulous .. never heard of Marvels ... and i have a Tidewater Oil tin can .. got it at the neat store in Mathews
sun? ummm ... there's been nothing but steady rain here ... gah
Those signs are worth big bucks to antique dealers! The owners should probably take them down and store them somewhere.
ditto, meg. I can't even remember Marvels. Royal Crown, yes.
There are a half-dozen shows about junk dealers ("pickers") on cable t v these days...they buy from the source and sell high to antique dealers and collectors...and would they love those signs, as Meg has pointed out.
How wonderful that they are still there, hanging on the old store--they make that building. I'd hate to see the store without them. Thanks for photographing the treasures that still exist in VA. LLC
I like the last photo very much, cbw.
