Three Things

Welcome to the three-ring circus that is my life Three-Thing Thursday here at Life in Mathews, a day when I share three things, and you share three things. Whatever you want. Anything at all.

Let's begin
.

1. Tonight after work I will drive to Richmond to a place called Kitchen 64 (or 84 or 44 or one of those 4 numbers) to meet up with one of my favoritest (it's a word) bloggers, Bossy, who is on a cross-country tour promoting the book that she didn't write but meant to.

1b. What this means from a stamina standpoint is I will wake up at 5:30 a.m. Drive an hour and 15 minutes to work. Work 8.5 hours. Drive another hour to Richmond. Drink wine Visit with Bossy for a couple of hours--and hopefully Big Hair Envy if she can make it--then drive an hour and a half home to Mathews.

2. That photo above is from the Easter Sunday sunrise service on Gwynn's Island. Blog Festers may think it's the beach where we had the cookout, but it isn't. This is on Commenter Breezeway's side of the island, and that's the Chesapeake Bay out there.

3. I lived on Gwynn's Island when I was 4 years old and have always felt a strong connection to it. Whenever I'm there I feel like I've arrived back home.

Now please make me the happiest blogger in the universe and leave a comment. You can say one thing, two things, three things or more things.

For the three two of you who read and don't comment, go ahead and write something even if it's "I love ants and fiddler crabs." Aside from being an indication of a serious disorder, it would let me know you're out there.

1. I like fiddler crabs, as long as they are running AWAY from me.
2.today I felt absolutely horrible. After a full dose of pain meds (I try to only take one pill, not two) I feel much better tonight. Hope to get real answers soon.

Blogspot can apparently see into the future. When I checked your post just after midnight..it showed not Three Things, but instead, the adirondack chairs but had them dated for Sat April 10th.

Three Things was right below and dated correctly.

Maybe Blogspot liked those chairs so much that it will be your post again on Saturday.

ditto the seeing into the future.. a shameless repost, perhaps? Anyway,

1. i remembered to comment, yay!

2. i get to laze about the house this afternoon, yay!

3. after weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and a bunch more weeks, i'm finally getting my hair cut next week! yay!

Yes, I was a little confused at the order of the posts here. Hope not too many of your readers get confused.

1. Sitting here being lazy on a warm autumn afternoon, putting my feet up to rest.

2. Was able to introduce my visitors to their very first skype experience this morning. I think they might have been a little bit impressed with being beamed straight into a New York living room.

3. Being lazy again. Still.

wv PUNCTSY good word that. If I said I think I am feeling punctsy....would that mean I am feeling a bit procrastinatory, with a bit of punchiness. Are they even words. Do I even have a clue what I am talking about. No. Or should it have more to do with my punctuation being a bit off?

We're off to a good start - six comments before six a.m. is always good. Zero cups of coffee before six a.m. is not good at all good. Not one bit.

HOpefully I fixed the disorder of things. Part of the problem was I accidentally posted this last night too soon, then retracted it. But do not ask me how yesterday's post got posted with a date of Saturday, because technically if I told it to post with a date of Saturday, it would not have posted yet....(I make statements as dumb and obvious as these when I've not had my coffee yet, which is the case right now.)

Deborah - Sorry about your space bar, but actually your comment made perfect sense to me. Perhaps that's also directly related to lack of coffee. (And also because the comment showed up perfectly fine in the e-mail version that was sent to me.) Something is definitely wrong with blogger.

Off to remedy this coffee emergency and head to work.Have a great day.

1. It is almost Friday and the sun is going to shine again today!

2. Our upstairs a/c is also out. My son is sleeping on an air mattress downstairs too since it was 94 degrees in his room last night!

3. I have heard a lot of complaining from the same son because he only had 1 day of spring break because of all the missed snow days. It doesn't help having his Mathews cousins rubbing it in that they have off all week!

Thanks for what you do...always makes me smile!

1. I am leaving a comment because it hurts my feelings when I see foot traffic on my blog with no comments.. I am weird like that.. sorta like walking by someone on the street and they dont' say Hi.

2. Today is Saturday.. just saying.

3. Enjoy tonight.. I haven't decided what exactly I am doing yet.. that is me undecided.. sigh

Be careful driving tonight. I'm sitting here in my hotel, having coffee and wishing this next hour could be three hours......the hour before I have to get ready and go to work. But, work will be pleasant today. We're having an Open House at the federal contractor where I work, so it's like working at a convention.....you say the same thing over and over and over. I'll put it in auto-mode with a smile.

I also loved the chairs from the future post. I'd love to have two chairs facing the bay so that I could drink my coffee there in the morning and my wine there at night.

How about the idiot that smoked a cigarette on a plane last night and then told an air marshall that he was trying to light his shoes on fire? Seriously? It's just not funny when you fly to make jokes like that.... I'll be flying back Friday night late.

Anyway, great post and I'll see you soon!

Love,

Middle Sis

1. Anne Marie - I am so sorry I have hurt your feelings. Some of those footprints belong to me. Not the dainty little Laboutin mules though. More the Nine West Iceage ones. I'm sorry. I will try to do better.

2. I hadn't noticed the date. What day is it a yway?

3. I dashed out of the door to run with Dog this m orning, dressed for yesterday's weather (16 and sunny). I apparently failed to notice that it is now -1 and sleeting. On the upside, the mosquitoes have gone back into hiding.

3a) I have some of your ants in my kitchen. Thank you SO much for your generosity. These are about an inch long, meaty enough to carve a steak off, slightly intimidating, and refuse to die when I crunch them underfoot. I believe they also have a little "I belong to CBW" tattoo on their rumps.

1. Have fun tonight!!!
2. I love Gwynn's Island, too.
3. I cannot wait until July.

Jamie said...

1. Sadly my simple pleasure for today (seeing Mr. Eye Candy fire fighter/fire marshall) will not happen... have to wait until next week.

2. I painted my toenails Siren red last week, this week I'm thinking of using "Jamaica Me Crazy" purplish-pink.

3. Thanks to yesterday's blog about sitting on chairs looking out on the Bay, that's ALL I have thought about since that time...

Phyl said...

1. I have 9 adirondack chairs ready and waiting for a clean up. However, I want to place them at the house I show for sale down in Redart. On the water, great house, deep water, dock . . . aahhhhh.

2. Gwynn's Island is home and I feel it stronger every time I return. Similar to the feeling of wanting to restart my blog every time I read my friend's blogs.

3. Can soemeone please wave the magic wand and make my house in Haymarket sell? and everything pack itself? and the divorce be final? and I get to keep the money I earned? Okay, maybe just an attitude adjustment for me.

1. I will admit to reading and not commenting each time - I run out of time but don't want to miss reading your posts!

2a. I have four really UGLY cat scratches from last night.

2b. The scratches really hurt.

2c. I am going to whine about my scratches for a while. It makes me feel better.

3. I got a free double (actually 2 CDs in one case) CD in the mail yesterday. Heaven!

1. I dislike all animals with an exoskeleton.

2.I also dislike 90+ degree weather in APRIL.

3. Other than that, life is good. I like that a lot.

Daryl said...

1. I am confused. Is this the same Bossy who was on another tour meeting up with Bloggers last year?

2. Someone who blogs came to NYC and didnt meet me? Amazing.

3. I knew that wasnt 'our' Gwynn Island beach because of that pier ..

1. I do not have a serious disorder. It's only mild, and I'm currently using an ointment to treat it.

2. I have been urged to start chitty-chatting to myself, from one me to another, when I'm driving around - in order to start loving the me I used to be as a child. Conclusion? I have no longer have an inner monologue when in enclosed spaces. Pity Milliken & all my Shanty-eers....

3. Every time you talk about Gwynn's Island, I can only think of Fred Gwynn from The Munsters. I'm sure he doesn't live there - but it sure would be kinda cool if he did (although I was def a Granpa fan...)

wv: asente, as in 'Today, I start my asente up the North Face of Mount Laundry. Later, I nap'

Baroness- Fred Gwynn Actually owned a farm in Taneytown, MD near my parents' property. He rented the movie theatre out for a special screening of one of his movies (I worked there at the time- back in High School) He passed away a few years ago, but I remember him as a nice guy. Very tall.

1. I may or may not be hosting BOSSY at my house in a few weeks, from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., some of which will be sleep hours and some will be wine hours. Or not. We'll see.

2. BOSSY is allergic to cats. My house is made of cats. BOSSY is allergic to my house.

3. I found out definitively yesterday that the adjustments I must make to each of my 900+ blog posts (at my new site) must indeed be made by hand. I'm about 200 posts in. Wish me wine.

1. I was feeling kinda blue and funky yesterday, and not in a way that's typical for me, so I decided NOT to go to the Bossy meet-up in Arlington.

2. I was wishing I had, though, because a bunch of other people bagged it at the last minute. What if you threw a party and no one came?

3. But judging from my mental state last night, I made the right call. But STILL.

4. Foolery, you are HOSTING Bossy? Can I say "I knew you way back when?"

Have a great time tonight. Tell her I'm sorry I flaked out.

Sigh. This is becoming repetitive (my comments I mean):
1) Took dog to vets.
2) Was all excited about actually LEAVING THE HOUSE, and GETTING DRESSED (for once - working from home can lead to some pretty nasty habits)
3) Guess what? Dog was sick and jumped up at me with sick covered paws. NATURALLY, I was wearing a plain colour which shows marks, NATURALLY, he had eaten something greasy the night before which left huge grease marks...End of outing to the city. I don't know why I bother with clothes anymore, really.

1. I thought yesterday was a non-ADD day but I was wrong. I forgot to do what I thought I hadn't forgotten...you know might know how that goes :-)
2. I have been dreaming about a garden all day long.
3. I am terrible at gardening and even my grasses for the masses look sick.

deborah said...

1. Took our new 'grand'dog to the vet today. She is sick.
2. I am not liking my son's ex-fiancee due to dog being put in the pound (dog shelter..definitely not humane), leaving her there for a week before telling son.
3. Guess who gets to walk the sick dog?
4. I want to sit in the chairs and stare at the water...

THANK YOU! for commenting, all of you.

It's 11:04 p.m . - the first time all day I'm able to read these, plus I still haven't written a post for tomorrow, plus I can't stop laughing, particularly at the Canadians in the bunch.

But I truly appreciate each and every one of your comments.

THANK YOU. Love reading these.

2.I'm in a funk for no apparent reason.

3. I'm contemplating ordering some of those pajama jeans.

3a. If they are cheaper by the dozen, so be it.
