Silent Sunday

Silent except for this: La luna was full this week, and I was fortunate enough, while shooting a sunset, to glance behind me and catch this glimpse of it. With the sun's rays behind me, the grasses around the shoreline lit right up.

I always have a tough time sleeping when the moon is full. I wonder why that is.

...That is beautiful CBW! Just beautiful! :o)

...Yeah, the moon probably has something to do with the lack of sleep. My grandma was a firm believer in the phases of the moon and the affect it had on planting, human nature, etc... They ("they" being the scientific community) have even stated that psych. wards even become more violent when the moon is full...

...Have you seen the movie "The Notebook"? I just finished watching it and lawdy, I bawled like a baby at the end... My husband is gone away hunting and so it was just me, the dog and the cat sharing a bowl of popcorn and watching the movie tonight. They all kinda vacated the room tho' when I started goin' into the "ugly" cry...lol :o)

...Thanks for sharing the pretty photo!

...Good Nite CBW and blessings too... :o)

Beautiful shot. I have a hard time sleeping during a full moon, too. I think it has something to do with all that extra hair I grow.

TJ - I also believe it affects the maternity wards of hospitals. I had my son during a full moon and will never forget it. The nurses at the hospital swore up and down they are busiest during a full moon. ...I haven't seen the Notebook but I did read the book a few years ago. Cried like a baby. A big, fat baby.

Annie - I think it's the moon. Can't wait to see the other version of that picture.

GJ - I often can't tell the "almost full" moon from the full one so I just lump them both in the full category.

MPM - Don't get me started on the hair, I'll start crying.

Happy Sunday to everyone. I'm off to take some pictures on this bright, sunny day.

Yes, the moon IS powerful. I used to work for the police dept. and I can vouch for the fact that things are definitely busier during a full moon. I've heard the same from emergency room nurses. I guess I'm lucky because not much keeps me from sleeping.

KD - You're too kind. It isn't hard to take a good picture around here because everything is naturally beautiful. Speaking of which, I took some spectacular pictures of Bethel Beach today and can't wait to load them up later this week. The sun and the beach were gorgeous.

Cats - Yeah, Mumma has gone hog wild on the writing, which helps me out a great deal, because some days I just don't have the energy or motivation to write anything. I've got enough pictures to post a different one through the turn of the next century, but many times I rely on her for some good stories. In fact, later this week I'll be posting a part of a letter she sent me in college, and it's a doozie. (How do you spell doozie?)

GTS Val - I absolutely believe it. I work in Human Resources and when I worked in Corporate America I could always tell when the moon was full because the employees would go CRAZY. I'd always be working these insane cases, like people embezzling money, or one employee stalking another employee. Crazy stuff. Now I work for the government where people barely have a pulse. Not even the full moon impacts them....

It is no coincidence that lunatic is derived from luna/moon. I'm convinced of it.

I thought you looked a little hairy yesterday:) I had NO IDEA it was a result of the full moon!!!

How ironic is it that I am currently reading "Twilight" for MPM's book club??? Vampires on the brain....

Have a wonderful week my friend. I can't wait for us to get together soon:)

BHE - Good for you for doing the book club. If I had a minute to read a book, I'd use that minute to take a nap!

I will be getting the basketball schedule here soon and can already tell you we have one week where we're at ACDS two times in the same week. We can do a Blogapalooza Planning Session then, perhaps.... Good to see you yesterday and hope you're enjoying the fiestaware. - cbw

I'll tell you why you're having a hard time sleeping...because you're really not sleeping at all!! You're out cavorting around in the woods, scratching your chest, growing hair and yelling " aaaaaoooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" like a wolf! ha ha just kidding
