The Highlight

From Aaron's Beach looking west.

Oyster shells

Washed ashore.

Marsh grass.

These are some random photos from a recent trip to Aaron's Beach.

To keep me distracted from what I've been doing this weekend, namely decluttering an upstairs bedroom and identifying the source of a basement leak, please tell me the highlight of your weekend thus far.

Unfortunately, you've already heard mine.

Wouldn't want to step on that piece washed ashore, but great photographs. I think I'd like your part of the world, maybe even a lot.

Worked on a couple of photo albums and didn't do a lick of cleaning. Today it's getting things ready for the work week. Sorry about that leak.

#1 Having our son here for the holidays.

#2 A trip to Blacksburg and back yesterday to watch Va Tech get a 37-7 win over UVa.

#3 A great four-mile Turkey Trot fun-run from Mathews High School to Williams Wharf Landing on Thanksgiving morning.

#4 Enjoying too much good, home-cooked food....thanks to my wife.

#999 Driving 45 miles to Target at 3-4 AM Friday morning only to find no parking space and two thousand people waiting for the store to open.

#5 Turned around, drove home, made some coffee, watched the sun rise over the East River, and continued reading THE BAY, an amazing 1951 book by Gilbert Klingel, a now-deceased Gwynn Island naturalist, author, and boat-builder.

Being with a couple of college kids who are torn in their desire to be with me. The end.

I think our highlight was visiting with friends and family. Oh, and the microbrewed pumpkin ale at what I thought was just any old roadside bar but turned out to be a fantastic find ranks right up there on the list!
