Stress Relief

There is something about gazing at water that calms and relaxes me. I need something to calm me down right about now; between work and kids and athletic schedules and unscheduled life events, and some insect buzzing within the woodwork of my kitchen window which I am in denial about (because surely I do not have a carpenter bee infestation), and the house looking like Hooraw's nest, I am just plain worn out.

I've had a very unusual past few days and find myself more stressed out than usual. The effects of this stress can be seen everywhere I go. For example, this morning I had to get gas on my way to work, and while I did not drive off with the gas nozzle in the car, which I have done before, I did pull clear up to the gas station, parked alongside the mini-mart portion rather than the gas-pumping section, went into the store, purchased an iced tea and just about drove off before I remembered that I did not come there for iced tea, in fact I came there for gas.

All I need to do is focus on this picture and my blood pressure drops several points which is a good thing because otherwise I'd be dialing 911 to report my very own stroke. Is it a full moon or something? I've always been very sensitive to the full moon. I blame it and hormones for practically everything in my life, mostly the bad things.

I have to go away for a few days but am loading up some pictures that OUGHT to post automatically while I'm gone. If they don't post, then I'll just have a stroke when I return. Because naturally I will not have access to the internet, the story of my life, to see whether or not they post.

Tomorrow I'll slap up a picture and a few meaningless words, but Friday --if it loads properly--there will be a ghost story that you won't want to miss. Or that you will miss if I haven't loaded it properly.

Have a great rest of the week, everyone.

Where do you think you're going? If you're looking for me, I'm back at the compound. Otherwise, I hope you are on a pleasure excursion of some sort.
Inquiring minds need to know.

Gazing at water helps me to relax also. Sorry to hear that you have been stressed lately.
A mini vacay is a good thing.
Enjoy yourself CBW.
We'll all be right here waiting patiently for your return.

Is Hooraw really a proper noun CBW??

This is my last comment before leaving....

Middle Sis: Hooraw is not a proper noun, it's as improper as they get. I always thought Hooraw was a person for reasons I cannot explain, as you know it was our grandmother's saying. I've since seen hoorah (hooraw?) after doing a google search and presume it to be some sort of bird. However, since I was a bit stressed when I wrote this, my brain defaulted to this being a specific person, hence the capitalization.

However, given its infrequent use and the important relationship to our wonderful grandmother Nanny, I am leaving it capitalized.

Thank you for pointing out my mistakes.

Have a great week, everyone - I'll be back on here Sunday evening, the good Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

(Or something like that.)

I love the water, too. Are you coming my way? I have wine. And the water.

Stroke, stroke, stroke. Be sure you take a prophylactic does of aspirin, just in case. Thins the blood, you know.

Have a good trip and hurry back to us!

Hi CBW
I am so glad to know that I am not alone in these unexplainable behavioral habits !!!! OH MY GOSH, I have "spells" of this as my Grandmother would say ha! ha! Last Saturday I drove back & forth from the same three business entrances-Chesapeake Bank to Best Value & back to Medicine Shoppe & in no certian pattern, at least 3 or 4 times, this was due to a stressful moment. My daughter sat in silent awe & finally just patted me on the arm. I can so relate !!!!!!!!
Oh yea, I plan on being at the Sandpiper on the 31st, would not miss it ! Thanks for the heads-up.
Hope it will be a good trip

I know what you mean. Many's the time I have poured me a nice tall glass of cold water and tipped back in my chair (which is called GEEGUMPHING, by the way) to watch that water.

Then I watched it some more.

Serenity now.

Must be a business trip. Hope it doesn't blow, literally OR figuratively.

Hope you feel better. How do working moms do what they do? There hasn't been any dinner around here all week. I ate a power bar tonite and forget about it. I gotta get these girls to take over. Your right about water and stress. enjoy your trip

Your photos have the same effect on me. Well, anything with the water does. It's one of the things I love most about living here in Maine. With the ocean so nearby, if I'm at the end of my rope, I head out to the beach and just soak in whatever it is about being there that puts me at ease.

Can't wait for your ghost story! Oh and please don't have a stroke...mmmmK? I would cry. BIG.FAT.CROCODILE. TEARS! Seriously!
