Here, Lady and Gentleman, is a house in Mathews that dates back to the 1700's.
Yes, it does.
This house is hidden way back in the woods just past Hardees.
Hardees has the worst drive-thru line in the history of drive-thrus so please understand that although their chicken fillets and summertime peach milkshakes may be delectable, I will need to boycott it all due to
The caretaker of this house is none other than Mathews Mark, the person who saved my boat during Hurricaneaster Ida; the jack of all trades; and the very eligible bachelor.
Yes, him.
Tomorrow I'll post more about this lovely house as full of charm and character as its caretaker.

I love his house...
But I'm still not single.
Stankey - my wv and that pretty much sums up Mark's and my chances together.
Annie may not be single today...but I might be;) That may rival the red brick house.
you big tease!!!!!
Fix me in your blog roll thingy honey..
...Really. I'm with MPM up there, may not be single but I sure could be! One has to wonder tho', he's a cutie and lives in a killer house - what gives? He has some kinda serious issues doesn't he CBW? Major baggage? Heavy drinker? I knew it. *sigh*giggle* (I'm just kidding btw;o)
...Beautiful home!
...Blessings... :o)
I guess this means that you won't have to trespass to get us some pictures of the inside?
I really, REALLY like his house!
Hey, I'm a caretaker too! And our house dates back to the 1700's. But alas, I am married.
Can't wait to hear more.
Awesome house!
<><
a truly lovely house...thanks for sharing with us.
happy sunday
I can't wait to hear more about Mark...I mean that house.
Will the house be on the agenda at Blog Fest. I mean will Mark be there?
Can't wait to hear about the interesting history of this house.
Baggage? Yeah I have two suitcases in the closet. They are an 18 year old and a 29 year old (one attending Virginia Tech and one running an advertising firm). Both of which I am highly proud of. As for drinking... coca cola with ice please :).
I am happy to report that we've already received one letter of interest expressed on behalf of a friend of a reader, so my goal of finding a good lady for a good man just might be realized yet. If you or someone you know might have an interest, there will be another Mark photo tomorrow.
In the mean time, he and I were in fact talking about making this house a stop on the Blog Fest 2010 tour, but it will depend on the timing and some logistics.
No matter what, though, Mathews Mark will be attending at least some part of Blog Fest '10. He might not know that yet, but he is.
A few more shots of the house and a little bit more about it coming tomorrow, but honestly Mark will have to chime in on the history part because as he was narrating it for me, I was only halfway listening--not because it wasn't interesting but because the house was just so incredible, inside and out. I couldn't stop taking pictures. So hopefully he'll be reading again tomorrow to provide more details.
Happy Sunday.
p.s. I envy Mark at having only two suitcases in the closet. I can't even locate my suitcases due to the dirty laundry and the skeletons!
I love other people's big houses with lots of rooms and lawns and stuff you have to clean more than 2-3 times a year
Oh fun .. WV: egmistr
I didn't know eggs needed misting!
Sounds like the ladies would like to have Mark on the menu, um, tour at Blog Fest '10;) Would it be possible to do a late-night ghost tour???
Sure, Big Hair Envy!!! You go take on the "residents" of that old house in the dark of the night....as for me, aka Ghostless...I'd like to see it in broad day light! thank you!!!
Ghostless, my love, I was hoping YOU would come along to translate;) I promise to walk in front...;)
