The Rainbow

As if Saturday evening's Mother Nature Show (from yesterday's post) wasn't spectacular enough, there was also a rainbow about midway through the series of ever changing sky scenes.

A dear friend of mine from Gwynn's Island called to make sure I saw it.

It's nice to know I have friends who will call to make sure I don't miss a rainbow.

It's reason #6,571 I love living here.

When was the last time you saw a rainbow? Is there a particular rainbow sighting that sticks out in your memory? Do you have a friend who would call just to make sure you didn't miss a rainbow? Aren't they grand?

Yes, those friends are grand. Wish I was close enough to be able to call you for a rainbow, but I am not....storming like crazy here right now. Sort of calming, since I've been upset about my Max (dog). He's having health issues...and he's been my little buddy for 7years. Saw Julie and Danny this weekend. Both seem to be doing great. Love you!

Middle Sis - Love you too. It's stormin' here now. Of course I wait until the morning of high winds, lightning and torrential downpours to have to gas up my car to go to work. Couldn't do it last night when it was 85 degrees and sunny out...Hope Max is OK.

it is so funny that you are posting all this how much you love it here .. errr ummm stuff .. the last few days and I have been just plain out of sorts cause I can't get AWAY from here.

I guess I don't have rainbow friends... no one called on Saturday and I was right here in the county with my camera in hang and did not see the rainbow.. sigh.

I have decided I am moving to a 3rd world country and work in an orphanage. They have those in 3rd world countries right??? I am going to take photos of the babies..

I remember one summer when I was a kid, we would have a t-storm every afteroon at about the same time. One of these times, we ended up with multiple rainbows all around us! I got to share that with my best friend at the time. It had been forever and a day until just recently, when I spied one while driving. I wasn't able to stop and stare, but I did see it and it made me smile.

I do. It was the first trip to MI with my now husband to attend his brother's wedding. We were driving through pf all places, stinky Detroit, and there was a double rainbow high in the sky. I thought it was perfect. I thought all was perfect, if only for a few minutes.

What a wonderful friend!
Stormed here last night, now its colder than a ....
Last fall, we saw a double rainbow, just beautiful. It seems everyone is too busy to stop and even look for a rainbow lately (except me, and I take the time:)

Love the rainbow. My last 2 rainbow sightings stick out. One was sighted just after Big Sis's epic field hockey game where she defeated the undefeated team of 4 years (she had 22 saves on goal- it was a shut out). The rainbow looked like it ended at the high school. The other more recent one I spotted in CA. Walked out of the Point Pinos lighthouse and there it was stretching into the Pacific.

Your pics demonstrate some of the 1,456,765 reasons why I want to live there.

I can remember two...the family trip to Disney World in Florida, there was a double that just spanned the whole horizon, it was breathtaking and very clear...and then a few months ago just driving. I always take a minute an thank the Lord for such a beautiful painting...

Double rainbows are the best. I saw one in the mountains once and was awe struck! Not sure if I have any friends that would call me but I know I am the type to call someone. I'm just annoying like that!

I saw a rainbow this morning on my way to work. It seems I always see them right after driving through H-E-double. Makes it worth it.. But the last time I saw a double (actually a triple) was on my way home after picking up my son from my parents house after work. It had been a long day and it was absolutely beautiful and cheered me right up!

Middle Sis -- love and prayers to you and Max.

yeah but did you find the pot of gold?

Chesapeake Bay Woman said...

KD- According to these shots, the pot of gold would be in Hallieford. Perhaps I need to make a trip over there and investigate!

Actually, the pot of gold on that side of the creek is a tiny speck of beach known as Cow Point, at the mouth of Queens Creek. Very magical, especially in the summertime.

Is it Friday yet? I've had to work extra hours at the paying job and feel as if the days are a million miles long and the nights are just a catnap. It's definitely been a long week.
