Bethel Beach

These were taken last sunny Sunday from Bethel Beach, where I parked my car to go for a jog.

In about four weeks, I'll have to run 13.1 miles, and I've only run a maximum of six miles, usually more like four or five, a couple of times a week for the past few weeks.  You won't find a half-marathon training plan anywhere but here that thinks that's OK, by the way.

But when it comes to distance running, I don't push myself, nor do I beat myself up.  I do what I can when I can do it and feel it's better not to have a rigid plan, Even the word plan makes me nervous and uneasy.  I'd much rather go with the flow and have loose guidelines and suggestions rather than a plan.

(For anything.)

I've already lectured myself about how I need to move more every day in anticipation of next month's half marathon.  Realizing the race Baby Sis and I are signed up for is now a mere four weeks away, I must now lecture myself about the need to kick up the mileage now, something my aching feet and crackling knees do not really want to hear.

Anyway, Bethel Beach is the perfect spot to park the car and go for a jog.  And lecture yourself. And ignore those very same lectures. And enjoy a beautiful, sunny Sunday.

bee-you-ti-ful beach photos....ooo..the light shimmering on the water...no place for lecture. As you said, you will just do what you can...and have fun with your sister .Now THAT is a plan, no ?

BUT, you are already in pretty good shape, which is why you can be so nonchalant about OH I'M GONNA RUN 13 MILES IN A FEW WEEKS. NO BIGGIE. I have probably not run 13 miles cumulatively in my entire life. Walked, yes, but I am not a runner. And as you know yourself well enough to know that Plans are not your thing, I know myself well enough to know I'm better off cheering for runners than actually trying to run myself.

I know we're well into October, but when I see a beach and blue skies I can't help but think "Summer!" Betsy

ps You're in great shape so that half marathon should be a piece of cake. At least that's what I'd guess, LOL, since I don;t do them either.
