Mother's Day Part I

Left to right: Chesapeake Bay Father; Chesapeake Bay Mother; Chesapeake Bay Toddler, circa 1966, right after electricity was invented.

Not pictured, not even born: Chesapeake Bay Middle and Baby Sisters...see how happy I look? (Love you, CB Sisters! Just playing.)

This is a picture of a picture because that's how high tech I am. No, I did not scan this--that would mean overcoming my fear of instruction manuals and the whole electronics industry. This is a digital image of the original framed picture. Boy am I ridiculously inept innovative!

Our mother is a beautiful lady, although you can't tell her that. (Maybe she'd listen to y'all, but it falls on deaf ears if we say anything to her.) Of course she looks a lot different than she did 40+ years ago, but she's still pretty, inside and out.

Tomorrow I'll post another unbelievably bad attempt example of my technical genius--another picture of CB Mamma in her earlier years.

What great genes you have! Your mom is beautiful and your dad is pretty hot too. Has anyone said he looks like Troy Donahue?

I have to say, your bangs are nice and straight, something my girls would envy.

Happy Mother's Day to CBM...if I let JJ meet your mom, he's never want to come back to Texas. Picture your mom, Gustaf and JJ romping in the yard together. Or JJ riding shotgun when CBM drives down the road on two wheels looking for Gustaf.

That is so nice for you to say these nice things about your Mum. So many times we hear people saying negative things...it is nice to hear the positive! Cute family by the way.

Beautiful genes!

I love older pictures like this. There's just something about them that always makes me smile.

HAPPY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to one of my favourite moms!

Yes, CB Mother is truly beautiful. And incredibly sexy. But she would never admit to either (just like her daughter). I'm sure she would accept a compliment about her goose, though. P.S. I had those same bangs, but they were always crooked for some reason. Probably cuz my mom would cut them and I would squirm around like crazy.

I live several seas away, and have always wondered what bangs are, though never enough to check it out on wikipedia. Someone enlighten me, please?

I love these old studio pictures, everyone looking so squeaky clean, natural and like they've never had an angry thought in their lives.

You're beautiful in the picture, all of you.

Now that's a wholesome gorgeous family. Right out of the pages of the 60s. Man, that makes me all nostaglic. It could have been an ad for detergent.

You were a doll, and still are.

YES, your mother is beautiful, and your father is Tony Curtis. That would make your mother Janet Leigh, and you Jamie Lee Curtis.

Your mother has no apparent fear of birds, however, so my theory has some holes. Or one big one, right in the bottom.

Happy Mothers' Day, Janet and Jamie Lee!
